Handing over 50 certification marks and collective marks to units and localities for management

On October 30, the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) held a conference to hand over certification marks and collective marks in Lao Cai province in 2025 to organizations and localities to manage, maintain and develop products that have been protected by certification marks and collective marks.

At the Conference, the Department of Science and Technology handed over 7 certification trademarks and 43 collective trademarks to units and localities to receive and manage the trademarks and record changes in protection certificate owners according to intellectual property law.

Protected intellectual property assets handed over to localities include: Yen Binh - Yen Bai red-fleshed dragon fruit; Sa Pa flowers, Bat Xat ginseng vermicelli, Bao Yen taro, Bao Ha seedless persimmon, Van Ban indigenous black pig, Muong Khuong sausage, Bao Thang hybrid carp, Si Ma Cai red peanuts, Tram Tau chili bamboo shoots, Nghia Do - Bao Yen duck, Lao Mu - Khanh Thien sticky rice, etc.

The handover of certification marks and collective marks to localities for management will promote the role of organizations and localities in exploiting, promoting, protecting and enhancing the value of the marks, serving the goal of socio -economic development in the locality.

Accordingly, the units and localities receiving and managing certification trademarks and collective trademarks are responsible for receiving all records, documents, protection certificates and systems of management and use documents of certification trademarks and collective trademarks assigned to them for management; proactively coordinate with the Department of Science and Technology to carry out procedures to amend trademark protection certificates according to legal regulations; organize the management, exploitation, protection and development of trademarks assigned to them for management effectively, for the right purposes and in accordance with regulations.

At the same time, advises and proposes the Provincial People's Committee to issue support mechanisms and policies to promote the effectiveness of certification marks and collective marks, contributing to the development of the local economy.
