By 12 noon on October 7, in the commune, there were 35 households living in areas at high risk of landslides, flash floods, and rock falls, with more than 100 people in 4 villages of Na Ha, Na Lin, Ban Sinh, and Coc Cai having been temporarily moved to a safe place.

Talking to reporters, comrade Nguyen Trong Huan - Secretary of the Party Committee of Ban Lau commune said: The motto is to prevent early, thoroughly implement "four on-the-spot" with the highest goal of ensuring the safety of life and property of the people and the State.

The commune has also reviewed and made a list of 54 more households in high-risk landslide areas that need to be relocated.

As of 5 p.m. on October 7, there was light rain in Ban Lau commune. According to comrade Giang Trung Dung - Chairman of Ban Lau Commune People's Committee, the consequences of storm No. 10 have not been completely overcome, the soil has been soaked with water, the structure is loose, so the risk of landslides, flash floods is very high.

“Although the locality has not suffered major damage from storm No. 11 so far, the risk is always lurking. We are continuing to prevent and fight the storm with high concentration,” said the Chairman of the People’s Committee of Ban Lau commune.

Currently, in the commune, there are some landslides with high risk of recurrence, posing danger to people and vehicles participating in traffic. That is, at Km 163 + 770 National Highway 4D, the roadbed in this section is very weak, while the soil is saturated with water. If a landslide occurs, it will cause congestion in the entire area. For motorbikes and small trucks, it is possible to temporarily divert traffic to avoid the village road, but for large trucks, it is impossible.
