The Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City met with Buddhist dignitaries on the occasion of Buddha's Birthday.

On May 9, in the atmosphere of celebrating the Great Buddha's Birthday, Buddhist calendar 2569 - Gregorian calendar 2025, the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City organized a meeting and congratulated Buddhist dignitaries who are members of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee living and working in Ho Chi Minh City, and members of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City for the 2024-2025 term.

Speaking at the meeting, Comrade Nguyen Phuoc Loc, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, sent his congratulations to Buddhist dignitaries for successfully organizing the United Nations Day of Vesak - Vesak 2025. All domestic and international delegates acknowledged and highly appreciated the organization of Vesak in Ho Chi Minh City.

The theme of the 2025 Vesak Celebration is "Solidarity and Tolerance for Human Dignity: Buddhist Insight for World Peace and Sustainable Development" which emphasizes the core elements: Peace, solidarity, sustainable development and human-centeredness. These are values ​​that are very close to the current development orientation of our country. Whether Buddhist or not, the core humanistic values ​​of Buddhism such as compassion, wisdom, peace, tolerance - all contribute to building a peaceful and happy society.

Comrade Nguyen Phuoc Loc hopes that the dignitaries will continue to do well in Buddhist work, while contributing to building the great national unity bloc, joining hands to take care of social security for the disadvantaged in Ho Chi Minh City in particular and the whole country in general.

The Executive Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in Ho Chi Minh City in particular and the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in general will continue to promote the spirit of "Protecting the nation and bringing peace to the people", the message of the 2025 Vesak Festival, guiding monks, nuns and Buddhists to live a good life and practice their religion, properly implementing the policies of the Party and the State, accompanying the government to build an increasingly civilized, humane and sustainably developed society.
