In the East, the 2nd Corps opened fire at exactly 5:00 p.m. on April 26. Nearly ten artillery battalions poured fire on the enemy. As soon as the artillery fire stopped, our troops rushed out from the rubber forests to the sound of trumpets echoing through the forest. In less than two hours, the 304th Division captured the Armored Training School and part of the Nuoc Trong base.

In the southwest direction, we cut off Route 4 from Ben Luc bridge to Trung Luong intersection north of My Thuan ferry and the section from Cai Lay to An Huu, blocking and attracting the enemy's forces of divisions 7, 9, and 22, creating favorable conditions for other directions to operate.

In the North, the 1st Corps destroyed a number of enemy artillery positions and controlled Route 16 to deploy forces to penetrate deeply, reaching 7km north of Thu Dau Mot. On the night of April 27, Binh My - an enemy stronghold on Route 16 was lost. All enemy outposts on the east side of Route 16 disintegrated and fled. The enemy's defense line on Route 16 was completely broken.
