Information security in the network environment

Member Nguyen Van Quy - Bac Tra My District Youth Union said that the situation of crimes and law violations related to fraud and property appropriation on cyberspace is becoming more and more complicated and tends to increase, causing public outrage. Notably, in remote areas, people who are new to digital technology are very vulnerable to being taken advantage of, scammed, and having their property and information stolen.

Similarly, Mr. Phan Tu - Secretary of Duy Xuyen District Youth Union said that people are currently very concerned about information leaks or bad organizations stealing information when people participate in digital transformation activities. During the propaganda process at the grassroots level, people continuously asked questions about this issue, making the Youth Union officials confused. Therefore, the representative of Duy Xuyen District Youth Union suggested that there should be strong solutions soon to ensure information security in the network environment.

Meanwhile, Youth Union member Dang Tan Cuong in Hoi An City informed that currently, some new professions are developing rapidly among young people such as youtuber, tiktoker... This is an age group that is not fully aware, easily exploited by bad guys, leading them to commit illegal acts through cyberspace. Mr. Cuong also hopes that the authorities need to guide young people when participating in social networks to be safe and secure with personal information.

Ms. Pham Thi Ngoc Quyen - Deputy Director of the Department of Information and Communications said that cyberspace is a favorable environment for promoting images and information, but it also comes with many risks. Currently, information disclosure occurs a lot, sometimes due to people posting information about phone numbers, ID cards, bank accounts on Facebook, Zalo... In addition, people access unofficial information sites out of curiosity, attracted by sensational titles, views, likes... This is an opportunity for bad guys to take advantage of and collect information to carry out fraudulent acts.

“To ensure information security, everyone needs to be fully equipped with knowledge before participating in the network environment; learn and access official information pages. In particular, people need to learn and pay attention to the Law on Cyber Security and the Law on Network Information Security. This is a legal corridor that clearly stipulates behaviors and sanctions related to the network environment,” said Ms. Quyen.

Currently, the Department of Information and Communications has signed a coordination regulation with the Provincial Youth Union on digital transformation among union members and youth. One of the key contents is training to raise youth awareness of digital transformation and network information security.

At the forum, many opinions from union members and young people were related to the inevitability of digital transformation for startups and the province's support mechanism.

Ms. Pham Thi Ngoc Quyen - Deputy Director of the Department of Information and Communications affirmed that digital transformation is an inevitable trend for startups. Specifically, startups flexibly apply new technology to production, business or financial and human resource management application processes... thereby reducing investment costs and increasing income.

“Connecting with young people who are youtubers and titokers to promote is a good and practical solution for startups. The Provincial Youth Union needs to research and effectively connect with these communities to support union members and young people to start businesses effectively,” Ms. Quyen suggested.

Mr. Dang Ba Du - Director of the Department of Industry and Trade said that currently, the website introducing Quang Nam products managed by the Department of Industry and Trade is operating very effectively. Every year, the Provincial People's Committee allocates funds to maintain its operations. However, the rate of product growth is quite slow, currently there are only about 500 products.

“E-commerce is something that needs to be done immediately for startups and businesses. We are always ready and create all conditions to support young people starting a business. For businesses and cooperatives that are facing difficulties and do not have the conditions to set up a website to promote their products, the People's Committee still allocates funds and supports this issue every year. Units need to learn and approach to get support,” said Mr. Du.

And digital transformation will speed up the process of reaching customers. However, before putting information and product designs on the internet, startups and businesses need to register copyright to avoid having their ideas and designs stolen.
