This achievement mainly comes from the 13 gold medals that Vietnamese athletes won on the competition day of May 12. Not only leading in the number of gold medals, Vietnamese athletes also won silver and bronze medals and the total number of medals overwhelmingly compared to the remaining 10 delegations. The Vietnamese Sports Delegation is also the only delegation to have reached the total of 200 medals at this year's SEA Games.
Ranked 2nd is the Thai delegation with 60 gold medals, 43 silver medals, 67 bronze medals. The host delegation Cambodia, after consecutive days of winning gold medals, has dropped to 3rd place with 56 gold medals, 47 silver medals, 63 bronze medals.
The next positions respectively belong to Indonesia (50 gold medals), Singapore (38 gold medals), Philippines (31 gold medals), Malaysia (28 gold medals), Myanmar (15 gold medals) and Laos (6 gold medals).
