- Colonel Tran Quang Trung: For the army, propaganda work is an important part, an inseparable part of Party work, political work, a "soft weapon" but has great power, contributing directly to building political mettle, strengthening the sense of responsibility and fighting spirit of officers and soldiers.
Deeply aware of the position, role and importance of propaganda and education work, over the years, the Party Committee and the Provincial Border Guard Command have always identified this work as an indispensable factor for the Provincial Border Guard to successfully complete its political tasks in all situations. On that basis, the Provincial Border Guard Command has directed agencies and units to effectively carry out political and ideological work with creative forms and measures suitable for each subject, ensuring that ideological work is always one step ahead.
Currently, we are implementing the Project “Innovation of political education work at the unit in the new period”, linking political education with the implementation of political tasks, training, combat readiness, discipline training, and formalization. Party committees and commanders at all levels regularly innovate, improve the quality of learning, thoroughly grasp the resolutions and directives of the Central Committee, the Central Military Commission, the Ministry of National Defense and new viewpoints and strategies on military, national defense, border defense and national border protection.
At the same time, the Party Committee and the Provincial Border Guard Command have directed agencies and units to coordinate with local Party committees, authorities, and Party press agencies to promote the dissemination of the Party's guidelines and the State's laws and policies to people in border areas, contributing to building a solid "people's hearts" position, creating a foundation for building a "national defense" position associated with a "people's security" position in border areas.
- Reporter: So, it can be said that every officer and soldier in the Border Guard force carries out propaganda work. So what are the tasks assigned and performed by journalists wearing green uniforms?
- Colonel Tran Quang Trung: In propaganda work, each officer and soldier must meet the requirements for standardizing the team, especially ideological stance, political mettle and constantly improve their learning and combat training. In addition to the officers and soldiers assigned to carry out information and propaganda work, each officer and soldier in their position and position must be aware of and carry out propaganda work in creative forms and measures, suitable for each subject and circumstance.
However, to contribute to spreading the role, functions and tasks of the Border Guard force, it is always necessary to have the accompaniment of the Party's press agencies. These are specialized agencies with sharp expertise, close to the grassroots and always accompany the Border Guard force to carry out the common task, which is to build the political system and protect national security and defense. Therefore, the Border Guard Command regularly coordinates with press agencies, assigning tasks to officers, soldiers, and "green uniform journalists" to directly carry out the task of information, propaganda, exchange, provide news articles, information, and coordinate with press reporters to carry out the task.
- Reporter: In recent years, the Border Guard of Nghe An province and local press agencies have closely coordinated, creating a bright spot in propaganda work. Could you share more about this issue?
- Colonel Tran Quang Trung: In recent times, the coordination between Nghe An Border Guard and local press agencies such as Nghe An Newspaper, Nghe An Radio and Television Station and central press agencies stationed in the area has become a bright spot. Thanks to the close and effective coordination, the image of border guards has been vividly and promptly conveyed, contributing to spreading widely in the social community.
Nghe An Border Guard always identifies propaganda as an important task to build the force's image, mobilize consensus and the strength of the entire people. The unit has proactively established close coordination with press agencies, creating favorable conditions for reporters to work, fully reflecting the practical activities of the force.
In information and propaganda, the provincial Border Guard has focused on the measure of "building" to "fight"; actively coordinated with central and local news agencies and newspapers to publish news and articles about good people, good deeds, models, movements, and work for the people of officers and soldiers and the results of the Border Guard's tasks in all aspects of work, creating a positive spread in society. Typical news and articles in Nghe An Newspaper and Nghe An Radio and Television Station: The series of articles "Developing stable border villages", "Nghe An Border Guard - a steel shield on the border", "Preventing illegal seafood exploitation from the root" ... truly reflect the work of helping people overcome natural disasters and develop the economy - society. Many impressive programs such as: "Fostering dreams in the border region", "Dad Tham of Dan Lai students", or a special report on combating IUU exploitation in Quynh Luu, Hoang Mai town... In particular, in the fight against special projects and cases of drug trafficking, human trafficking, rescue work, the press agencies have updated and reported promptly, contributing to encouraging and motivating officers and soldiers in performing their duties.
In addition, central press agencies such as Nhan Dan Newspaper, Quan Doi Nhan Dan Newspaper, TTXVN... also continuously have many high-quality articles and photo works, reflecting multi-dimensionally on the lives and activities of border guards, especially at stations such as Tam Hop, Nhon Mai, Na Loi... Models such as "Border Guard Station's adopted children", "Helping children go to school", "Border medicine cabinet", "Border dormitory", helping people build houses, develop production... are truthfully and objectively reflected by press reporters, creating a deeper and further spread to all classes of people about the effectiveness of the Border Guard's tasks.
In the coming time, we hope to continue to receive more attention and support from the press agencies with professional and creative ways of working, contributing to a stronger and more comprehensive propaganda about border work, protection activities, socio-economic development, ensuring national defense and security in the province. Especially in key tasks such as: fighting against drugs, fighting against IUU, preventing natural disasters, search and rescue, protecting border crops, building a peaceful, friendly border, and sustainable development.
Close coordination with the press has contributed to improving the effectiveness of propaganda work and strengthening people's trust in the Border Guard force.
