Ensuring construction safety against storm Kalmaegi

Faced with the complicated developments of storm No. 13 (Kalmaegi storm), the Management Board of Investment and Construction Projects in the Eastern region has just issued a document directing construction units to urgently deploy plans to ensure safety for people, equipment and works under construction; especially sea and river embankment projects, areas at risk of landslides.

The contractor proactively reinforced the items to ensure the safety of the Vinh Phu embankment project.

Accordingly, the committee requested contractors to review the scene, reinforce temporary items, remove materials, equipment, and machinery from vulnerable areas; arrange forces to be on duty 24/7 during the storm; proactively coordinate with local authorities in moving materials, ensuring absolute safety for workers.

For key projects such as My Quang Nam sea dyke; Da Dien estuary anti-erosion and silting embankment; Vinh Phu embankment..., the committee pays special attention to monitoring water levels, strong winds, and high tides to promptly handle arising situations, avoiding property damage and damage to works.

The construction unit placed components outside the My Quang Nam embankment project to ensure the safety of the project against storm No. 13.

The Board also assigned the technical department to strengthen field inspections and regularly report the response situation to the province's standing agency for natural disaster prevention and control for timely handling and direction.

Currently, contractors have deployed safety measures, moved machinery and equipment to safe places, and are ready to fix the problem when the weather stabilizes, to ensure the progress and quality of assigned projects.
