Parents participate in monitoring and tracing the origin of products.
In her first year at the new school, Nguyen Ngan Thuy, a student in class 9A1 at Nguyen Thi Minh Khai Secondary School, shared that after experiencing her first school lunch, she found it interesting and quite impressive. The food at the school is diverse, delicious, fresh, clean, and safe. Especially, every Friday, students get a different meal so they don't get bored.

Sharing the same sentiment, Tran Thi Song Thu, a student in class 6A2, said that the food is fresh, delicious, and diverse, with different dishes every day, avoiding repetition. She especially enjoys the lunch on Fridays, with her favorite dishes being vermicelli and pho...
According to Mr. Nguyen Van Hoach (Bac Tu Liem district) - a representative of the parents, he was very honored to be able to supervise and trace the origin of food at An Thinh Company along with the school's Board of Directors and members of the boarding school's staff. In addition, Mr. Hoach also met with the school's Board of Directors to select the contractor, which showed the professional and responsible involvement of both the school and An Thinh Company.

“Before sending our children to Nguyen Thi Minh Khai Secondary School, we were very worried. But after several instances of directly monitoring the food supply and distribution to students, I am completely reassured and confident about the food's origin and have placed my trust in Minh Khai Secondary School,” Mr. Hoach said.
According to Ms. Hoang Thi To Oanh, Deputy Principal of Nguyen Thi Minh Khai Secondary School (Tay Tuu Ward, Bac Tu Liem District), although the school was newly established in 2024 with a modest number of 668 students, to date, 627 out of 668 students have participated in the school lunch program, accounting for approximately 41%.

To get the school canteen operational, the school organized communication sessions, professional development, and integrated food safety awareness campaigns to enhance knowledge and skills for the school administration, canteen managers, food preparation and processing staff, parent-teacher association, and students. 100% of the staff, teachers, and employees involved in the school canteen received training on food safety.
In addition, the school also reviews and ensures good food safety conditions in the cafeteria; and coordinates well with relevant departments.
The role of sectors and organizations in implementing food safety activities.
To have quality meals
According to the Vice Principal of Nguyen Thi Minh Khai Secondary School, the school has recently reviewed student registrations and voluntary applications for school lunch programs; and assigned staff, teachers, and employees to provide school lunch care in a scientific manner, suitable to the school's actual conditions and disease prevention measures.
The school's canteen operations comply with food safety regulations. The school also effectively implements legal documents guiding the work of ensuring food hygiene and safety in schools. In particular, the school's Board of Directors and key staff members have worked together to develop the canteen procedures and select contractors.

After the school's management board, inspectors, labor union, head of the boarding school group, and representatives of parents jointly supervised and traced the origin of the food, the school signed a contract with An Thinh Consulting and Trading Service Joint Stock Company – the provider of hot meal services in the school. The company committed to purchasing food with clear origins, complete with certificates from health authorities regarding food safety, and QR codes.
Currently, the school's kitchen has one chef, three service staff, and one supervisor. The kitchen staff receive regular health check-ups every six months and comprehensive training on food safety.
The school's kitchen system is arranged and designed according to a one-way process, avoiding overlap between stages such as cooking, preventing contact between raw and cooked food, and ensuring food safety.
Therefore, from the food receiving stage to food processing, there is always the involvement, inspection, and supervision of representatives of parents, the school's Board of Directors, inspectors, and school health staff during meal preparation. After inspecting incoming food and tracing the origin of fresh food, meat, fish, vegetables, and fruits, the school continues to monitor daily using QR code labels.
To ensure food safety during the food preparation process, the school assigns representatives to receive fresh food from the kitchen, under the supervision of relevant organizations and associations (at 6:30 AM on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays).

To ensure students receive quality, nutritious, and palatable meals, the school collaborates with a catering company to inspect the meals and plan any necessary adjustments. Importantly, the menu is publicly disseminated to all teachers, allowing them to monitor and provide feedback on student meal quality through various means, including direct feedback to the school administration or the kitchen staff.
In the coming time, the school will continue to regularly and closely monitor all aspects of food safety in the school's cafeteria so that parents will increasingly trust and entrust their children to Nguyen Thi Minh Khai Secondary School - a newly established school that has already made many significant contributions to the education sector.
