In addition to regular activities on food safety, the Food Safety Action Month 2025 is a highlight of the year, creating a peak period, launching a communication campaign to comply with legal regulations on food safety in food production and trading activities; minimizing violations in food production and trading; proactively preventing food contamination, minimizing food poisoning, especially food poisoning cases in which many people suffer from using unsafe food products.
The Provincial Inter-sectoral Steering Committee for Food Safety requested that during the Action Month, functional sectors, members of the Steering Committee and People's Committees of districts and cities should step up propaganda, education , raise awareness, identify responsibilities and actions of Party committees, Party organizations, cadres, Party members and people in ensuring food security and safety; promote the role and responsibility of organizations, individuals and enterprises in enforcing food safety laws; promptly inform about safe, high-quality food supply chains, violating establishments, and potential risks of food security and safety.
Strengthen inspection and supervision of food security and safety work; resolutely combat, prevent and strictly handle organizations, individuals, production and business establishments that violate regulations on food security and safety; promote the role of authorities at all levels, management agencies, social organizations and consumer supervision in compliance with food safety laws by individuals and food production and business establishments.
Improve capacity to prevent and proactively handle food poisoning and foodborne diseases; minimize poisoning caused by consumption of unsafe food.
Attaching responsibility to People's Committees at all levels to focus on directing and allocating resources for food safety work; improving coordination between local authorities, functional agencies and socio -political organizations in food safety work; promoting sense of responsibility to the community of individuals, production and business organizations, and consumers for food safety work.
During the Action Month, the Provincial Interdisciplinary Steering Committee on Food Safety will establish 3 provincial interdisciplinary inspection teams, in which the Department of Health, Department of Industry and Trade, Department of Agriculture and Environment are assigned to be the Heads of the teams to conduct inspections and post-inspections at the Interdisciplinary Steering Committee on Food Safety in 8 districts, cities and a number of Steering Committees of communes, wards and towns in the province.
At the district and city levels, interdisciplinary inspection teams will also be established to conduct inspections and post-inspections of the implementation of food safety regulations at food processing and production facilities according to decentralization, and take strict measures to handle violations of state regulations on food safety...
The 2024 Food Safety Action Month has the theme "Continuing to ensure food security and safety in the new situation"; implementation time is from April 15 to May 15, 2024 nationwide. According to the report of the Inter-sectoral Steering Committee for Food Safety, in 2024, 100% of districts and cities have implemented the Plan "Month of Action for Food Safety"; 5/8 districts and cities organized conferences, launching ceremonies and parades in response to the "Month of Action"; 3/8 districts organized implementation by deploying documents, plans, conducting propaganda on mass media and hanging banners in response to the Month of Action for Food Safety. During the Action Month, the whole province established 119 teams to inspect 1,418 establishments; through inspection, 1,246/1,418 establishments passed, accounting for 87.87%; 71 establishments violated, 5 establishments were administratively fined with a total amount of 4.8 million VND. |
