Many large-scale transport infrastructure projects with a total investment of tens of thousands of billions of VND are being promoted by localities. Notable projects include a nearly VND3,000 billion road in Ninh Binh, two bridges worth over USD1 billion connecting Dong Nai with Ho Chi Minh City and a plan to expand National Highway 1 through Ha Tinh.
Ninh Binh invests nearly 3,000 billion VND to build the road connecting Y Yen - Thanh Liem
The Management Board of Investment, Urban Development and Land Fund Projects of Region II has announced the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Report for the Thanh Liem - Cao Bo road construction project (T4 axis). The road has a total length of about 16 km, passing through the communes of Thanh Liem, Tan Minh, Phong Doanh and Y Yen.
The total estimated investment for the entire route is VND2,880 billion. The project is planned to be implemented from the first quarter of 2026 to the fourth quarter of 2028, promising to significantly improve traffic connectivity in the area.
Dong Nai studies two bridges worth over 1 billion USD connecting Ho Chi Minh City
Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee has approved the assignment of Construction Corporation No. 1 - JSC (CC1) as the investor to propose the Cat Lai bridge project and the approach road under the public-private partnership (PPP) form. At the same time, the province also supports CC1 to study and implement the Long Hung bridge project (Dong Nai 2 bridge) and the approach road.
The total investment for these two bridges is estimated at over VND29,800 billion. CC1 will coordinate with departments and branches to study the route, update the planning and determine compensation and resettlement costs.
Ho Chi Minh City proposes railway plan connecting Tan Son Nhat airport and Long Thanh
The Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has sent a document to the Government on the railway connection plan between Tan Son Nhat and Long Thanh airports. According to the proposal, passengers from Tan Son Nhat airport will travel to Ba Queo station of Metro Line 2 (Tham Luong - Ben Thanh - Thu Thiem).
At Ba Queo station, passengers will transfer to the Thu Thiem - Long Thanh railway line to go to Long Thanh airport. City leaders said this plan has the advantage of connecting to the central area through Ben Thanh station, an important traffic hub linking metro lines 1, 2, 3 and 4.
More than 8,000 billion VND to expand National Highway 1 through Ha Tinh
The Ministry of Construction has sent a dispatch to the People's Committee of Ha Tinh province and the Vietnam Road Administration regarding the investment project to upgrade and expand some sections of National Highway 1 in the province. According to the Department of Roads' report, the project will upgrade and expand three sections with a total length of about 70 km.

The road sections will be upgraded to meet grade III road standards, with a scale of 4 lanes and a road surface width of 20.5 - 30 m. The total estimated investment for this project is more than 8,000 billion VND.
More than 2,000 billion VND to build a road connecting 3 mountainous provinces with Noi Bai - Lao Cai expressway
The Management Board of Construction Investment Project No. 1 has announced the Environmental Impact Assessment Report for the road project connecting the three provinces of Son La, Lai Chau, Lao Cai with the Noi Bai - Lao Cai Expressway. The project has a total length of 69 km, passing through Mu Cang Chai, Nam Co and Phong Du Thuong.
The preliminary total investment of the project is 2,030 billion VND. The expected implementation period is 6 years from the date of capital allocation.
Hanoi spends more than 800 billion VND to extend the West Thang Long axis
The Dan Phuong Commune Infrastructure Investment Project Management Board has announced the Environmental Impact Assessment Report for the Tay Thang Long Road construction project, the section passing through the old Dan Phuong district. Specifically, this is the section from Dan Hoai canal to Provincial Road 417.
The route is expected to be about 3.15 km long, passing through Dan Phuong and Lien Minh communes. The total investment of the project is more than 800 billion VND, with the expected implementation period from 2026 to 2028.
Phu Quoc is about to have a metro line worth nearly 9,000 billion VND
The metro project in Phu Quoc has been approved for investment under the BOT (Build - Operate - Transfer) contract. The project was proposed by Phu Quoc Sun Company Limited as the investor.
The total investment of the project is estimated at nearly 9,000 billion VND. In phase 1, the metro line is 18 km long, connecting Phu Quoc International Airport with the APEC Conference Center. The structure of the line includes 1.3 km of elevated route, 14.3 km of ground route and 2 km of underground route through the central area.
