On the morning of October 27th, the Office of New Rural Development Coordination of Ha Tinh province organized a training session on the process of evaluating and classifying OCOP products; registering for protection and development of intellectual property; and improving food safety and quality associated with traceability of OCOP products.
Attendees included representatives from the Center for Agricultural Systems Research and Development, Vietnam Academy of Agricultural Sciences; nearly 300 commune and ward officials; and participants in the OCOP program.
Opening the training program, Deputy Chief of the Provincial New Rural Development Coordination Office Ngo Dinh Long affirmed: After more than 6 years of implementing the One Commune One Product (OCOP) program, the entire province has recognized 410 OCOP products, of which 267 products still have valid certifications, and many products have established quality and brand recognition in the market.
However, implementing a two-tiered local government model requires many new adjustments in organization, management, and program implementation, demanding that grassroots officials thoroughly understand their functions, responsibilities, and coordination procedures to ensure effective implementation in the future.
The Deputy Head of the Provincial New Rural Development Coordination Office requested that officials in communes and wards study and fully absorb the contents in order to advise, guide, and support stakeholders in the implementation of the program. Stakeholders who already have OCOP-certified products need to continue to understand the regulations on industrial property rights protection and food safety regulations.

Instructions on the revised and supplemented contents of the set of criteria and procedures for evaluating and classifying OCOP products.
Over the course of two days, delegates will be briefed on topics related to the One Commune One Product program. The focus will be on guiding the implementation of Decision No. 1489/QD-TTg dated July 6, 2025, of the Prime Minister on amending and supplementing some contents of Decision No. 148/QD-TTg dated February 24, 2023, on approving the set of criteria and procedures for evaluating and classifying products under the One Commune One Product program.
This section introduces topics related to the registration, management, and exploitation of industrial property rights for OCOP products along the value chain; and the management and improvement of food quality and safety, linked to product traceability.
In addition, lecturers and delegates will exchange ideas and address some difficulties and obstacles encountered in the current implementation of the OCOP program.
