Counterfeit goods - a constant fear of every family
The reality of counterfeit goods, especially fake milk, fake medicine and fake food, has become a constant obsession for every family; not only causing economic damage but also directly affecting the health, even the lives of consumers.
It is increasingly difficult for consumers to distinguish between genuine and fake products as counterfeiting methods are becoming more sophisticated and unpredictable. From rice, meat, vegetables to spices, drinks, fake and poor quality foods infiltrate every family's meal. These foods are often produced in unsanitary conditions, using banned chemicals and additives of unknown origin to create attractive colors, flavors or extend shelf life.
Recently, authorities have continuously discovered production and trading lines of fake functional foods and fake drugs. Some products discovered to be fake have reached hospitals, causing panic among the people. The Government has directed a strong fight to prevent and repel crimes of smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods, and fraudulent trading. This is expected to be a "medicine" strong enough to improve and return the business environment to legitimate enterprises.
However, in the minds of consumers, the question “when will counterfeit and toxic goods no longer be a problem?” has become a constant concern. From pharmacies to vegetable stalls, from cosmetics to electronics, the widespread appearance of poor quality, unknown origin, and even toxic products is affecting people’s trust and threatening public health. People want a healthy business environment, where trust is protected by strict laws and social responsibility. So how can counterfeit and toxic goods no longer have a place in the market?
The answer lies not only in the peak of the crackdown, not only in a few massive campaigns. To truly push back the problem, we need a strict, consistent management system, where each agency considers this a daily job, a permanent task, not something that “comes up at the appointed time” and then goes back to normal. Attacking, prosecuting, and preventing violations is not enough. The time has come, we cannot just “fight” the tip, but need to “destroy” it from the root.
"The fear of counterfeit goods, fake milk, fake medicine, and fake food will only be eliminated when each consumer becomes a wise, alert 'soldier' determined to say no to counterfeit goods, along with strong and decisive participation from management agencies." |
On May 23, the Ministry of Health held a national online conference to evaluate the peak period of the fight against smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods in the health sector. Minister of Health Dao Hong Lan affirmed the ministry's viewpoint on handling counterfeit goods in the health sector is to fight fiercely, handle strictly, with no forbidden areas and no exceptions.
"People are very confused, not knowing which products are allowed to circulate, which are fake or counterfeit. Therefore, the application of information technology, increasing the responsibility of agencies, including businesses, is very important to solve the problem fundamentally and long-term, otherwise it will be difficult to implement," the Minister of Health emphasized.
Minister Dao Hong Lan also said that it is necessary to continue communicating so that people understand the regulations and which products are fake, counterfeit, and substandard. Business units need to be aware of their role and responsibility to produce the right, quality products. We do not let the market be chaotic, flooded with fake, substandard products.
It takes the whole society to fight against counterfeit goods.
The fight against counterfeit goods and trade fraud is a difficult, complex and long-term task, requiring the synchronous and drastic participation of all levels, sectors and the whole society. Everyone wants to know when this problem will really end? This is a persistent fight, requiring the cooperation of the whole society.
To do so, we must change our management mindset, from passive to proactive, from post-processing to prevention from the source. There must be a clear traceability mechanism, and increased application of technology in inspection and supervision. Authorities need to continue to step up raids, inspections, detection and strict handling of acts of manufacturing and trading in counterfeit and toxic goods, with fines that are sufficiently deterrent.
It is worth mentioning that the work of attacking, sweeping, preventing and repelling violations must be maintained regularly and continuously, sealing all loopholes that bad guys can exploit; this must be considered a daily responsibility not only of the authorities but also of the entire system.
Finally, people are not just victims, but need to become part of the solution. Every right choice, every act of denouncing counterfeit and poor quality goods is a practical contribution to cleaning up the market. It is necessary to strengthen propaganda and education campaigns to raise awareness, equip people with knowledge to distinguish genuine goods from counterfeit goods, and encourage people to denounce violations. When consumers are smart and proactive in boycotting, counterfeit goods will have difficulty... surviving.
The problem of counterfeit and toxic goods cannot be solved overnight. However, with the determination of the Government, the strong participation of functional agencies, the initiative of businesses and the vigilance of consumers, we can fully hope for a more transparent and safer market. The most important thing is to maintain a strong and constant spirit and consider this a common responsibility of the whole society.
The fear of counterfeit goods, fake milk, fake medicine, and fake food will only be eliminated when each consumer becomes a wise, alert "soldier" and is determined to say no to counterfeit goods, along with the strong and decisive participation of management agencies.
