Coach Kim Sang Sik has been chosen to lead the Southeast Asian All-Stars team to play a friendly match against Man Utd at Bukit Jalil Stadium (Malaysia) on May 28. He has called up four Vietnamese players, Hoang Duc, Duy Manh, Hai Long and Van Vi, to the team. Quang Hai was once called up but withdrew due to his busy schedule.

It can be seen that the Vietnamese team has called up many key players to participate in this friendly match. Meanwhile, Malaysia has withdrawn key players such as Dominic Tan and Sergio Aguero and added less-than-best players. Similarly, Thailand and Indonesia have not brought their best players to the Southeast Asian All-Stars team because they are busy preparing for bigger goals.
Faced with this situation, Best Eleven expressed concern that the Vietnamese team had to carry the Southeast Asian All-Stars team. This greatly affected the team's preparation for the "final" match of Group F with Malaysia in the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers on June 10.
The Korean newspaper commented: "Many key players of Southeast Asian teams (including Malaysia) did not join the Southeast Asian All-Stars team. Meanwhile, the Vietnamese team sent four key players, Hoang Duc, Duy Manh, Hai Long and Van Vi, to participate in this match.
This has led to the key players of Vietnam having to bear more burden in a match that is only a friendly match. Even in the context that Southeast Asian teams (such as the Philippines and Australia) refuse to send players, coach Kim Sang Sik may have to call up more Vietnamese players.

That clearly has a big impact on the Vietnamese team before the decisive match with Malaysia. This match is no different from the final match to win a ticket to the 2027 Asian Cup in Group F.
Meanwhile, Malaysia has clearly affirmed its determination to retain key players to prepare for the match with the Vietnamese team. Coach Kim Sang Sik has reason to worry as the physical strength of the Vietnamese players is unnecessarily depleted. He is even at risk of having his tactics leaked in the match held right in Malaysia."
The match between the Southeast Asian All-Stars and Man Utd will take place at 7:45 p.m. on May 28. The Red Devils will play their final match of the season against Aston Villa on May 25. However, coach Ruben Amorim still affirmed that he will bring the best squad for this tour in Asia. After the match with the Southeast Asian All-Stars, Man Utd will face Hong Kong (China) on May 30.
