The Insurance Supervision and Management Department (Ministry of Finance) said that as of 5:00 p.m. on September 12, through reports from insurance companies, the companies had received information about more than 9,000 cases of property and motor vehicle damage; recorded 14 deaths, 18 cases of health insurance. The total amount of money paid for human and property damage is estimated at about 7,000 billion VND.
These are preliminary figures in the context of damage caused by storm No. 3 and storm circulation, so data on the number of losses and insurance compensation payments have not been comprehensively and fully collected.
In addition, the severe impact left behind by storm No. 3 and floods also created difficulties and challenges for insurance companies. However, the management agency said it will continue to direct, supervise, and facilitate and accompany insurance companies to closely monitor the locality and promptly come up with the best support plan for organizations and individuals participating in insurance to overcome the consequences of natural disasters, quickly stabilize their lives and production and business in accordance with the regulations and direction of the Government and the Ministry of Finance.
