Meanwhile, the Andaman Sea, Gulf of Thailand, and southern Thailand are experiencing a fairly strong southwest monsoon. These weather conditions will result in heavy to very heavy rains in northern, northeastern, central Thailand (including Bangkok and its vicinity), eastern and southern Thailand from today until July 20.
The Thai Meteorological Department has advised people to be on guard against severe weather conditions such as prolonged heavy rains that could cause flash floods and landslides, especially along waterways and low-lying areas. Vehicles should also be extra cautious when traveling during thunderstorms.
The Thai Meteorological Department also forecasts strong winds and waves of up to 2-3 meters in the Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf of Thailand, and over 3 meters in the stormy areas. Small boats and ships operating in the Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf of Thailand are advised to anchor close to shore during this time and pay attention to weather updates.
