VOV.VN - Today (November 1), the Vietnam Military History Museum opened its doors to the public at its new location in Nam Tu Liem District, Hanoi. In the morning, many tourists, students and pupils arrived early to be the first to visit the museum.
The Vietnam Military History Museum was newly invested in construction in Tay Mo and Dai Mo wards, Nam Tu Liem district, Hanoi on an area of 386,600m2.
Today (November 1), the Vietnam Military History Museum opens its doors to the public at its new location.
In the morning, many tourists, students and pupils arrived early to be the first to visit the museum.
The main building of the Vietnam Military History Museum is over 23,000 square meters wide, with the MiG-21 with serial number 4324, nicknamed "Silver Swallow" standing out at the entrance.
The museum currently preserves and displays more than 150,000 artifacts, including 4 national treasures and many valuable artifacts.
On the morning of November 1, most of the visitors to the new location of the Vietnam Military History Museum were children, students, and veterans.
Many international tourists also visited the museum on November 1. "I was very impressed with the way the museum prepared and arranged the artifacts to tell and explain historical stories to visitors, including the Vietnam War, a topic that I have long been interested in. I have been to several military museums in the US but was not impressed with this visit to the museum in Hanoi," said Ms. Louisa Costa, a Brazilian tourist.

The exhibition space at the Museum is divided into 6 themes: Theme 1: The early days of building and defending the country; Theme 2: Protecting independence from 939 to 1858; Theme 3: Fighting against French colonialism, gaining national independence from 1858 to 1945; Theme 4: Resistance against French colonialism, 1945 - 1954; Theme 5: Resistance against the US from 1954 to 1975; Theme 6: Building and defending the country from 1975-2024.
Students learn and study history in a visual and vivid way.
The new museum is built with a modern design, applying many new display methods, combined with 3D mapping technology; information lookup screen devices; automatic audio guide and QR code to look up information about artifacts, images...
The museum also creates spaces for visitors to interact and experience, learning more about the struggle for national independence.
