A series of meaningful activities

At cafes along the central streets, both domestic and international tourists fill the seats, enjoying the flavors of Hanoi while feeling the vibrant rhythm of life in the capital ahead of the grand celebration of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2nd, also known as the national "concert" on September 2nd. "Hanoi these days is both solemn and lively. Walking the streets, seeing the rows of bright red flags, I feel the celebratory atmosphere is both sacred and intimate," shared Mr. Nguyen Hong Minh, a tourist from Ho Chi Minh City.

International tourists are thrilled by the vibrant atmosphere of flags and flowers in Hanoi.

The Hanoi Department of Tourism recorded a significant increase in visitors during the holiday period, with pedestrian areas around Hoan Kiem Lake, the Grand Opera House, and Ba Dinh Square always crowded. Tourists were particularly interested in historical sites such as the Temple of Literature, Thang Long Imperial Citadel, and the Vietnam Military History Museum. Numerous art programs and exhibitions added to the attractions, including a display of revolutionary relics at the Thang Long Imperial Citadel and outdoor art performances. A new attraction was the "Hanoi 5 Gates" train with its nostalgic style. "I was very surprised to experience old Hanoi on the train, and to see the streets from a different perspective, which made me love Hanoi even more," expressed Ms. Pham Thi Thu Hang (Lang Ward, Hanoi).

In order to serve the large number of people and tourists, major museums such as Ho Chi Minh Museum, National Museum of History, Vietnam Fine Arts Museum, Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism , and especially the Vietnam Military History Museum are all open for free during the 4-day holiday.

Many foreign tourists in Hanoi at this time also couldn't hide their delight and excitement at enjoying the vibrant atmosphere of flags and flowers. One British tourist said that he had been to Vietnam several times before and this year, Hanoi was "very different" from what he had experienced previously, especially with the streets covered in red and yellow flags. Furthermore, the Old Quarter has become more lively these days with the increase of numerous shops selling celebratory items such as national flags, red shirts, and decorative conical hats.

The hotel is fully booked.

On several websites, searches for accommodation in Hanoi by international tourists during the holiday period have surged. According to the Hanoi Department of Tourism, by the end of August, 2-4 star hotels and homestays in the city center were almost fully booked, with only a few 5-star hotels remaining. On online platforms, "Hanoi tourism" became the most searched keyword leading up to September 2nd. Many tourists were frantically searching for rooms around the Hoan Kiem and Ba Dinh districts – where the parade and march will take place.

On this special occasion, the Hanoi Department of Tourism, along with many travel agencies, introduced specially designed tours linked to the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day. These itineraries not only allow visitors to enjoy the momentous atmosphere of the capital but also offer a rich cultural and historical experience. One of the standout products is the tour "Watch the parade - visit the treasure trove preserving national memories." Visitors will stay at a 4-star hotel near the event area, making it convenient to attend the event and explore central Hanoi. "The highlight of the tour is a visit to the Vietnam Military History Museum with over 150,000 artifacts, utilizing 3D mapping and QR code technology to create a unique experience," said Mr. Pham Van Bay, Deputy Director of Vietravel Hanoi.
