A series of meaningful activities
At the cafes along the central streets, domestic and foreign tourists are filling up the seats, enjoying the flavors of Hanoi and feeling the bustling life of the capital on the eve of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2, also known by the community as the national "concert" September 2. "Hanoi these days is both solemn and bustling. Walking around the streets, looking at the rows of red flags, I feel the atmosphere of the anniversary is so sacred and close", said Mr. Nguyen Hong Minh, a tourist from Ho Chi Minh City.

Hanoi Department of Tourism recorded a sharp increase in the number of visitors during the holidays, with walking spots around Hoan Kiem Lake, the Opera House, and Ba Dinh Square always crowded. Tourists are especially interested in "red addresses" such as the Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam, Thang Long Imperial Citadel, Vietnam Military History Museum, etc. Many art programs and exhibitions also create highlights, including a space to display revolutionary relics at Thang Long Imperial Citadel and outdoor art performances. A new attraction for tourists is the "Hanoi 5-door city" train with a nostalgic style. "I was very surprised to experience an old Hanoi on the train, and to see the streets from a different perspective, making me love Hanoi even more," said Ms. Pham Thi Thu Hang (Lang Ward - Hanoi).
In order to serve the large number of people and tourists, major museums such as Ho Chi Minh Museum, National Museum of History, Vietnam Fine Arts Museum, Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism , and especially the Vietnam Military History Museum are all open for free during the 4-day holiday.
Many foreign tourists in Hanoi at this time also could not hide their excitement and joy when enjoying the bustling atmosphere of flags and flowers. A British tourist said that he had been to Vietnam several times and this year, Hanoi was "very different" from what he had experienced before, especially with the image of the streets covered with red flags with yellow stars. Not stopping there, the space of the old quarter these days has also become more lively with the increase of countless shops selling festive items such as national flags, red shirts or decorative conical hats.
Hotel fully booked
On some websites, international tourists’ searches for accommodation in Hanoi during the holiday skyrocketed. According to the Hanoi Department of Tourism, by the end of August, 2-4 star hotels and homestays in the inner city were almost fully booked, with only a few remaining in the 5-star segment. On online platforms, “Hanoi tourism” became the most searched keyword ahead of September 2. Many tourists were frantically looking for rooms around Hoan Kiem and Ba Dinh areas - where the parade and march took place.
On this special occasion, the Hanoi Department of Tourism and many travel agencies have introduced specially designed tours associated with the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day. These itineraries not only help visitors enjoy the solemn atmosphere of the capital, but also open up meaningful cultural and historical experiences. One of the outstanding products is the tour "Watching the parade - visiting the treasure trove of national memories". Visitors will stay at a 4-star hotel near the event area, convenient for attending the event and exploring the center of Hanoi. "The highlight of the tour is the visit to the Vietnam Military History Museum with more than 150,000 artifacts, applying 3D mapping technology, QR codes, creating a different experience", Mr. Pham Van Bay, Deputy Director of Vietravel Hanoi, informed.
