Thanh Nien Newspaper cooperates in training and communication with 7 universities

Afternoon of July 11, At the Thanh Nien Newspaper Office, leaders of Thanh Nien Newspaper and leaders of 7 universities with faculties and majors related to the fields of communication, public relations, event organization... met, discussed and signed a memorandum of understanding to coordinate and promote training and communication activities.

The schools include Hoa Sen University, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics and Finance, Nguyen Tat Thanh University, University of Finance and Marketing, Hong Bang University and Gia Dinh University.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Toan, Editor-in-Chief of Thanh Nien Newspaper , expressed: " Thanh Nien Newspaper and universities have cooperated and supported each other for many years, but this is the first time we have built a long-term cooperation plan. We hope that the universities will share with Thanh Nien the motto: Generosity, kindness, humanity and trust".

Accordingly, one of the important contents that Thanh Nien Newspaper and the schools signed is that the schools will consider granting scholarships to students who are members of the newspaper's program to support orphans due to the Covid-19 pandemic "Continuing life with children" when they enter university.

"Continue your life with your children" is a program initiated by Thanh Nien Newspaper on September 16, 2021, right at the time when the Covid-19 pandemic broke out strongly and severely affected life. After 2 years of launching, 2,000 children orphaned by the Covid-19 pandemic in districts in Ho Chi Minh City and Binh Duong province have been supported, of which 350 students have been sponsored until the age of 18 with an amount of nearly 50 billion VND. "Through this memorandum of understanding, we hope that universities will continue to support tuition fees for students so that they can continue their university studies," said journalist Ngoc Toan.

Right at the signing ceremony, a student whose father died due to the Covid-19 pandemic, who had received sponsorship from the program "Continue Life with Your Children", was now admitted to university and was awarded a scholarship of 10 million VND by the University of Finance and Marketing. A group of alumni of the school, upon hearing the information, gave him an additional 2 million VND.

Dr. Nguyen Quoc Anh, Vice Principal of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, acknowledged that this cooperation between Thanh Nien Newspaper and universities is of great significance to universities. Not only will students benefit from participating in major events of the newspaper to experience and learn practical knowledge and skills, but lecturers and administrators will also gain valuable experiences that will supplement their teaching and management work.

• Introduce experts/journalists/reporters/editors of Thanh Nien Newspaper to participate as judges, consultants/mentors in competitions and academic events organized by the school.
• Coordinate and plan practical thematic activities for school students with the participation of journalists/reporters/editors of Thanh Nien Newspaper.
• Priority is given to students of the school to participate in, coordinate organization, logistics, media support... in major events of Thanh Nien Newspaper, as part of practical skills.
• Arrange plans for students of all majors of the school to do internships at appropriate departments and at representative offices of Thanh Nien Newspaper nationwide.
• Priority recruitment for students of 7 schools.
• Schools will introduce and prioritize inviting school leaders, lecturers, and scientists to participate as speakers to give professional opinions in seminars/talkshows/seminars/special topics/events and article content organized by Thanh Nien Newspaper.
• Lecturers of schools are supported to exploit documents and materials from the newspaper's Information and Documentation Center to serve research and teaching work.
• Schools will reduce tuition fees or grant appropriate scholarships to students who are members of the Covid 19 orphan sponsorship program "Continuing life with children" sponsored by Thanh Nien Newspaper when they are admitted to the school.
