The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting said that this afternoon (November 15), storm Usagi entered the northeastern sea of ​​the North East Sea, becoming the 9th storm in 2024.

Thus, in just one week, the East Sea has been hit by three consecutive storms. Previously, on November 8, Typhoon Yinxing, measuring level 14 (150-166km/h), gusting to level 17, entered the East Sea and became storm number 7. On the evening of November 11, Typhoon Toraji, measuring level 11 (103-117km/h), gusting to level 13, hit the East Sea and became storm number 8 of the year.

Specifically, at 4:00 p.m. on November 15, the center of storm No. 9 was located in the northeastern sea of ​​the North East Sea. The strongest wind near the center of the storm was level 10 (89-102 km/h), gusting to level 12. The storm moved in a northwest direction at a speed of about 15 km/h.

Forecast for the next 24 hours, storm No. 9 in the sea east of Taiwan, moving north then turning northeast, traveling 10-15km per hour and gradually weakening. The strongest wind near the storm center is level 8, gusting to level 10.

Forecast by 4pm on November 17, the storm in the sea east of Taiwan, change direction to East Northeast, moving 5-10km/h per hour and weaken into a tropical depression. The strongest wind near the storm center is level 6-7, gusting to level 9.

According to the weather forecast at sea, the meteorological agency said that on the night of November 15 and November 16, the northeastern sea area of ​​the North East Sea will have storms and rain, strong winds of level 6-7, near the storm center level 8-10, gusts of level 12, very rough seas, waves 2-4m high, near the storm center 4-6m.

On the night of November 16 and November 17, the northeastern sea area of ​​the North East Sea (north of latitude 21.0N; east of longitude 119.0E) will have strong winds of level 6, gusts of level 7-8, and waves 2-4m high.

Vessels operating in the above mentioned dangerous areas are susceptible to the impact of storms, whirlwinds, strong winds and large waves.
