Former director arrested for signing fake contract, pocketing 1.7 billion VND

Mr. Truong Ba Thien, former Director of the Central Salt and Agricultural Products Processing Joint Stock Company, was arrested for "Embezzlement of property".

On the evening of January 15, information from the Ha Tinh Provincial Police said that the Provincial Police Investigation Agency had just issued a decision to prosecute and temporarily detain Truong Ba Thien (born in 1976, residing at No. 1, Lane 14, Tran Phu Street, Residential Group 6, Tran Phu Ward, Ha Tinh City, Ha Tinh Province) for the act of "Embezzlement of property", stipulated in Point a, Clause 4, Article 353 of the Penal Code.

According to the investigation agency, during his time as Director of the Central Salt and Agricultural Products Processing Joint Stock Company (a company with 52% state capital), Truong Ba Thien took advantage of his position and authority as company director to sign false economic contracts to withdraw company money for personal use.

Initial investigation results show that Truong Ba Thien embezzled 1.7 billion VND.

Currently, the Investigation Police Agency of Ha Tinh Province Police is continuing to investigate and expand the case, clarifying the roles and responsibilities of related individuals, to handle according to the provisions of law.
