In a recent interview with Chosun (Korea), coach Kim Sang-sik shared very special things about the Vietnamese team.

Doan Ngoc Tan is playing quite well for the Vietnamese national team.

Notably, when asked about the name that impressed him most in the Vietnamese team, the Korean coach did not hesitate to point out that it was Doan Ngoc Tan.

Coach Kim Sang-sik said that Doan Ngoc Tan is the type of player who does not try to make himself stand out. Instead, he always silently contributes to the team's overall achievements and this is the type of player he really likes.

“The most important thing is dedication. I am impressed that Doan Ngoc Tan always gives his all to the team instead of trying to stand out. When he loses the ball, he is the first one to persistently chase it, win it back and pass it to his teammates.

“We need stars to shine when we are in trouble, but we need even more the type of worker who always hides and silently contributes to the team,” coach Kim Sang-sik told Chosun.

Coach Kim said he always reminds his students to try hard and learn good things from their teammates to improve.

“You have to learn to be jealous. Be jealous of your colleagues, seniors and competitors. From there, learn their strengths and good points and make them your own,” Mr. Kim Sang-sik emphasized.

In the immediate future, Coach Kim Sang-sik and his colleagues will continue to watch matches in the V-League and First Division to look for new factors and re-evaluate the performance of the players in the national team, aiming for the match with Malaysia in the final qualifying round of the 2027 Asian Cup.
