At the police station, the subject confessed that when he heard that a trade fair was about to be held at the Commune Cultural House, Nhut had the idea of harassing people to collect protection money. On November 6, while the fair was taking place, Nhut directed Sang and Luong to cause trouble, not allowing people to participate in the games, and then demanded a protection money of 50 million VND. Because the price was too high, the businesses in the fair did not agree. Unable to achieve their goal, in the following days, Nhut and Luong called the remaining subjects to the fair to continue harassing them. In order to do business in peace, the businesses in the fair had to contribute money to give these subjects 30 million VND. When the subjects were receiving the money, they were caught red-handed by the police.
The case is being further investigated and clarified by the Provincial Police Criminal Police Department.
