In her closing speech at the Congress, Deputy Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Thi Kim Chi - Head of the Congress Organizing Committee emphasized the importance of the 13th ASG in promoting the spirit of solidarity and friendship among Southeast Asian countries through school sports.

“The Southeast Asian School Games have given us an opportunity to connect, build and create new friendships. We have witnessed the spirit and tireless efforts of the student athletes. They have inspired us by overcoming limits and achieving great achievements. Through sports, we can overcome differences, overcome boundaries, and work together to build a strong and united Southeast Asian community,” Deputy Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Thi Kim Chi emphasized.

Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Le Quang Nam shared, after nearly 10 days of fierce and exciting competition, today we gather here to sing the song of victory with medals. More than 1,000 athletes, referees, and coaches are more than a thousand stories of efforts, attempts, and sacrifices to overcome difficulties and challenges to join our festival.

But above all, all the athletes tried their best, competed with all their might, had the opportunity to exchange, learn, and explore different cultures, and were cheered and encouraged by their peers and the large number of fans in Da Nang city. That was the victory of all of us; the victory of the spirit of honest, impartial, pure, and noble sportsmanship; the victory of oneself, the victory of solidarity and friendship, just like the theme of the Congress "Asean - Connecting to Shine Together".

"On behalf of the government and people of Da Nang city, I warmly congratulate the young athletes on their excellent achievements and sincerely thank the attention and support of the Congress Steering Committee, the Southeast Asian Student Sports Council, the responsible participation of the members of the Organizing Committee, the Sub-committees, the referees, coaches, and volunteers; the enthusiastic support of the team of scriptwriters for the opening and closing ceremonies; and reporters from domestic and international news agencies and newspapers. At the closing ceremony, Deputy Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Thi Kim Chi, Head of the Organizing Committee of the Games, and representatives of Da Nang city leaders performed the ceremony of handing over the flag of the Southeast Asian Student Sports Council to Brunei Darussalam - the host country of the 14th Southeast Asian Student Sports Games.

The 13th ASG took place from May 29 to June 9 with 6 sports including 107 competitions, corresponding to 704 medals of all types and 107 sets of medals.

At the end of the Congress, the Vietnamese delegation excellently led the whole delegation (with a total of 44 gold medals), second was Indonesia (22 gold medals) and third was Thailand (18 gold medals).

The Games recorded 9 records broken, all in swimming and set by athletes of the Vietnamese Student Sports Delegation including: 1,500m freestyle for men, 200m medley for men, 400m individual medley for men, 50m freestyle for women, 50m butterfly for women, 100m freestyle for women, 50m breaststroke for women, 4x200m freestyle relay for men and 4x200m freestyle relay for women.

According to the Organizing Committee, the 13th ASG was an exciting Games with high professional quality. The sports delegations participating in the Games were deeply impressed by the hospitality and professionalism of the host country. The organization, logistics, communications, security and safety work... were all ensured throughout the Games.

The 13th Southeast Asian School Sports Festival fully demonstrated the message of "Connect to shine bright". The festival is not only a place to honor sports talents but also promotes the connection of students from countries in the region, uniting together for a young generation of Southeast Asian integration and development.
