Becamex IDC 'broke plan' to mobilize 7,500 billion VND

Becamex IDC Corporation (stock code: BCM) has just announced the minutes of the first written vote counting session in 2025 to collect shareholders' opinions on the plan to offer additional shares to the public.

According to the minutes, the company received 136 votes, representing more than 1 billion shares, accounting for 98.29% of the total number of voting shares of the company.

Of these, 128 votes representing nearly 29.5 million shares, accounting for 2.85% of the voting shares, approved the plan. The remaining 6 votes representing more than 987.8 million shares, accounting for 95.44% of the voting shares, had no opinion.

This result means that the plan to offer additional shares to the public of Becamex IDC is not approved.

According to the report at the end of June, Becamex IDC plans to offer 150 million shares, through public auction on the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange (HOSE), with a starting price of no less than VND50,000/share.

Implementation time in 2025 and/or 2026, after approval by the State Securities Commission.

If successful, BCM can collect at least VND7,500 billion, of which VND2,000 billion will be invested in the infrastructure of Cay Truong Industrial Park, VND500 billion will be poured into the expanded Bau Bang Industrial Park, VND3,330 billion will be contributed to existing companies (including VND2,276 billion to VSIP) and VND1,670 billion will be used to pay off loans and maturing bonds.

Previously, on April 9, Becamex IDC postponed the public offering of an additional 300 million shares through auction, due to the impact of tariff information from the US, causing the stock price to drop sharply.

On the stock exchange, BCM shares closed the session on September 18 at 69,200 VND/unit, up slightly by nearly 3% in the past week. However, compared to the beginning of the year, this stock has decreased slightly by more than 2%.
