Not only was Ngan honored to join the Female Medical Officers' Block, walking at Ba Dinh Square on the historic morning of September 2 during the National Day celebration, but thanks to the training process, Ngan got to know and accepted the love confession of her boyfriend who also performed A80 duty, Lieutenant Cao Duc Duong, working at the Mass Mobilization Team, Huoi Luong Border Guard Station ( Lai Chau Provincial Border Guard Command), participating in the Border Guard Officers' Block.

Hoang Thi Ngan said that she and Duong met through social networks. One time, when she posted a photo of herself in a pretty military uniform on her personal page, Duong took the initiative to text Ngan to get to know her. Seeing that Duong was a border guard officer and spoke sincerely and seriously, Ngan happily responded. After that, the two chatted like friends, often texting and calling to share the hardships of training and family matters to ease their homesickness. Gradually, feelings between the two blossomed.

Although they liked each other, due to different units and training locations, it was not until the second joint training session at the National Military Training Center 4 (Hanoi) that they had their first real meeting. In this first meeting, although the time was short, Duong left Ngan with a good impression because of his tall, well-proportioned figure and mature, strong demeanor. The more they talked, the more they found that they had many things in common, were compatible with each other, and wanted to have more time to share, chat, and confide.

Unable to hide his feelings, as if by fate, on the third meeting at the training session, Duong officially proposed to Ngan. What surprised Ngan was that not only did he propose, Duong also "delivered the final blow", confirming the future of the two with a very serious attitude. Faced with such sincere feelings, Ngan nodded. After that, Duong's constant concern and inquiries, and Duong's initiative to introduce Ngan to his friends in the block and call home to inform his family about his love story made Ngan really moved and was enough for the female soldier to trust and give her feelings to the border guard officer.

According to Ngan, love blossomed during the special mission, so there were many "special" things. Although they were on the same mission, during the long period of time, the two only met 7 times, with extremely short meetings. The meetings were always at the end of the training session, preliminary rehearsal, final rehearsal... and the meeting place was always the last stretch of the training journey.

Hoang Thi Ngan excitedly said that their love story was happily accepted by both families. The young couple took advantage of the time they had just completed the A80 mission to ask the commander for permission to go home to meet their families, report their love story to plan further.
