For a long time from the 30s to the 40s of the 20th century, Tuc Dup carried within itself a flame of revolutionary struggle. During the years of resistance against the French colonialists, thanks to the rugged terrain, the French colonialists could not find the shelter of the revolutionary soldiers and did not dare to sweep and hunt them down. Since 1960, Tuc Dup was the base of the Tri Ton District Party Committee and the An Giang Provincial Party Committee, an important bridge bringing the Northern troops across Truong Son and Cambodia to spread out across the Southwest battlefield. This place nurtured important factors, especially training and fostering many core cadres during the hot period of struggle, during the general uprising of Tet Mau Than 1968.
