This is a program implemented by the hospital with the hope that children with this disease will be treated promptly by leading experts. Early detection of kyphosis and scoliosis in children and timely treatment will help prevent and minimize complications that cause severe spinal deformities and seriously affect the development of other internal organs, adversely affecting the health of children.

Many people bring their children to be screened for spinal diseases.

Dr. Phan Trong Hau, Head of the Department of Trauma and Spinal Orthopedics, 108 Central Military Hospital , said that scoliosis is a spinal disease that affects the structure and physiological shape of humans. If not detected early and treated promptly, scoliosis will progress more and more seriously and greatly affect the quality of life. People with scoliosis will encounter many difficulties in daily activities, significantly affecting respiratory and cardiovascular functions. In particular, when suffering from scoliosis, patients also have an inferiority complex when participating in community activities.

The doctor conducted a screening examination for the children.

According to doctors at the Department of Trauma and Spinal Orthopedics, children under 18 years old with one or more symptoms of scoliosis have signs including: The shoulders are skewed, not equal in height ; the child's head is not in the middle but slightly tilted to one side; one of the two shoulder blades is more visible than the other; the child does not fit into clothes; the child is thinner on one side of the body; the child's two legs are not of equal length; one of the two hips may be higher than the other and the ribs are not of equal length...

Doctors of the Department of Trauma and Spinal Orthopedics conduct diagnosis and determine the level of hunchback and scoliosis through X-rays.

Dr. Le Thanh Hung (Department of Trauma and Spinal Orthopedics, 108 Central Military Hospital) said that since the department started free screening and surgery to treat hunchback and scoliosis in children under 18 years old, on average, about 50-60 children are brought in by their parents every day. After screening, suspected cases of hunchback and scoliosis will be referred for X-rays to have a timely treatment plan.

Doctors at 108 Central Military Hospital treat a child with spinal disease.

From now until June 1, families who discover their children or siblings have one of the above symptoms can bring them for free screening at room number 12, 2nd floor, General Examination Department, 108 Central Military Hospital (No. 1 Tran Hung Dao, Hai Ba Trung, Hanoi ).
