On March 14, Quang Ngai Provincial Police announced that the Criminal Police Department of the Provincial Police had just issued a decision to prosecute Duong Van Khai (25 years old, residing in Hamlet 3, Duc Nhuan Commune, Mo Duc District, Quang Ngai) to continue investigating the act of murder.

According to the case file, while driving his girlfriend on Hai Ba Trung Street, Quang Ngai City, Khai was blocked by a group of Nguyen Minh Khanh (residing in Nghia Lo Ward, Quang Ngai City) and Nguyen Nhat Trung (residing in Tu Nghia District) and many other young men, chased and beat him.
While being surrounded and beaten, Khai pulled out a switchblade he was carrying and stabbed Khanh, Trung and another young man. Trung was seriously injured and was taken to Da Nang Hospital for emergency treatment but died. Nguyen Minh Khanh was also seriously injured and is being treated at Quang Ngai General Hospital.
It is known that the cause of the incident was due to a previous conflict between Khai and Khanh, Trung.
