BHG - On the morning of April 25, Vi Xuyen district held a memorial service and buried the remains of heroic martyrs at the Vi Xuyen National Martyrs Cemetery. Attending the ceremony were: Senior Lieutenant General Le Quang Minh, Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army; Lieutenant General Pham Duc Duyen, Party Secretary, Political Commissar of Military Region II. On the side of Ha Giang province, there were comrades: Hau A Lenh, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Phan Huy Ngoc, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; members of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee; leaders of the 15th National Assembly Delegation of Ha Giang province; Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council - People's Committee - Fatherland Front Committee; leaders of departments, branches, sectors and Steering Committee 515 of the Ministry of National Defense, Military Region II.

Before holding the memorial service and burying the remains of 6 newly discovered heroic martyrs gathered in Thanh Thuy commune, Vi Xuyen district, the Provincial Party Secretary Hau A Lenh, Senior Lieutenant General Le Quang Minh, and Lieutenant General Pham Duc Duyen rang the bell and visited the spirit of President Ho Chi Minh at the Temple of Heroic Martyrs in the Vi Xuyen National Martyrs Cemetery.

Reading the eulogy at the funeral, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Vi Xuyen district emphasized: The victory in the battle to protect the northern border has great significance, but the losses and injuries cannot be compensated. At the Vi Xuyen front, thousands of soldiers of the Vietnam People's Army and the people of all ethnic groups in Ha Giang province fought with the spirit of "Not an inch gone, not a millimeter left", determined to hold each hill, each cliff, and high point with the courageous spirit of "Living on the rocks to fight the enemy, dying and turning into immortal stone"; more than 4,000 officers and soldiers heroically sacrificed and remained in the land of the northernmost tip of the Fatherland. The war has long since ended, but the people of all ethnic groups in Ha Giang province have never forgotten the losses and pains left by the war.
