Quang Ninh Provincial Party Secretary Vu Dai Thang visited and encouraged the family of a police officer who died while on duty.

On the night of April 17, upon receiving information about the incident in which a group of people illegally buying, selling, and transporting drugs used military weapons to attack the police force, causing the death of Senior Lieutenant Nguyen Dang Khai, of the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department (Quang Ninh Provincial Police), Secretary of the Quang Ninh Provincial Party Committee Vu Dai Thang and Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Vu Quyet went to Bai Chay Hospital to visit and encourage the families of the officers who died and were injured while on duty.

Previously, through the fight against the inter-provincial drug trafficking and transportation ring, at about 20:20 on April 17, 2025, in the area near Dragon Castel apartment building (in group 10, zone 10, Bai Chay ward, Ha Long city, Quang Ninh ), the working group of the Provincial Police led by the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department discovered and arrested 2 subjects, seizing 16 Heroine drug cakes.

During the pursuit of the remaining suspects, the suspects used military weapons to attack the police force, causing Senior Lieutenant Nguyen Dang Khai, Department of Drug Crime Investigation (Quang Ninh Provincial Police) to be shot and killed.

Visiting and encouraging the family of the officer who died while on duty, Secretary of the Quang Ninh Provincial Party Committee Vu Dai Thang expressed his deep condolences at the passing of Senior Lieutenant Nguyen Dang Khai, a brave police officer who was willing to sacrifice himself for the peaceful life of the people regardless of danger. At the same time, he affirmed that the sacrifice of comrade Khai was a great loss not only for the Quang Ninh Provincial Police force but also the grief of the entire Party, government and people in the province. Although he died at a very young age, his brave spirit, strong will and devotion to the Fatherland will forever be a beautiful symbol of the People's Police officer.

Provincial Party Secretary Vu Dai Thang affirmed that Quang Ninh province will always accompany, care for, and fully implement policies and rewards for families and consider this a responsibility and deep affection of the Party, State and the whole society.

Along with that, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Vu Dai Thang also requested the Provincial Police force to quickly complete the procedures to bring comrade Nguyen Dang Khai back to his hometown and quickly complete the policies for martyrs who died while on duty. At the same time, he requested the Provincial Police to continue to mobilize maximum forces to quickly arrest the subjects in the drug trafficking and transportation case to bring peace to the people.
