16 years old, brilliant start
Ngan Ha was born in 1984 in Ho Chi Minh City. At the age of 16, she made her first mark in the beauty industry when she entered the Top 10 of the Miss Vietnam contest. Possessing a lovely face, attractive body and confident demeanor, she was quickly considered one of the promising faces of Vietnamese beauties in the early 2000s.
Just one year later, she participated in the Miss Southern Provinces contest and won the highest position. However, the most memorable milestone was in 2003, when Ngan Ha became the first Vietnamese representative to participate in Miss Earth.
In this contest, the beauty scored points thanks to her confident demeanor, fluent English ability and careful preparation for each competition. She was honored with the sub-award for Miss Most Beautiful Hair and ranked 2nd in the list of most favorite contestants online.
Immediately after the contest, Global Beauties honored Ngan Ha in the top 100 most beautiful women in the world in 2003 and became the first Vietnamese person to appear in this beauty magazine's ranking.
Not stopping there, Ngan Ha continued to try her hand at international beauty contests. In 2004, she entered the Top 10 of Miss International Tourism . 10 years later, Nguyen Ngan Ha unexpectedly returned to Miss World 2014 , winning the title of 1st Runner-up and the Goodwill Ambassador award.
Every time she brought the bell to strike foreign lands, she brought back impressive achievements for Ngan Ha, contributing to affirming the beauty and bravery of Vietnamese women in the international arena.
The silence behind the halo
Along with her beauty pageant journey, Ngan Ha has also made her mark in many artistic fields such as model, singer and musician. She has released 3 albums and composed a series of popular songs such as Tango Dance, Remember Remember Remember ...
However, when her career was on the rise, Ngan Ha suddenly withdrew from showbiz and lived a private life for many years. Recently, she revealed the reason for her silent "retreat" period: emotional events made her lose direction and spirit to work.
The female artist has gone through two tearful relationships. In 2012, she became a single mother and chose to raise her child in silence.
"My child's father is a good person, but we both have different thoughts and opinions, so we broke up. Being a single mother is not easy, but I try to think positively and keep moving forward," she shared with the media.
After major changes in her life, Ngan Ha chose to start over in a new land. She currently resides in Australia and has a peaceful life with her husband, a businessman of New Zealand origin.
The beauty said that her husband has been a vegetarian for over 20 years, is currently the President of the Northern Territory Business Association and owns a college. Despite his busy work schedule, he still takes care of and loves his wife's stepchildren like his own, and is a solid support for Ngan Ha both mentally and practically.
"He is good, loving and caring for my child. He voluntarily helps me with everything without asking for help. But he also doesn't let me depend on him. He guides me, gives me opportunities but lets me be strong and rise up on my own. He is a combination of the strengths of both Western and Eastern men," Ngan Ha confided.
Besides taking care of her family, she also runs her own business and is satisfied with what she has. No longer appearing in public, rarely sharing about her personal life, but Ngan Ha is still a name that arouses curiosity among many audiences who once loved her beauty and talent.
