About 70km north of Quy Nhon city, Vi Rong cape in Tan Phung village, My Tho commune, Phu My district, Binh Dinh province, is a beautiful landscape that still retains its wild and mysterious features.
This place is attracting many tourists to visit and experience.
According to Mr. Truong Ba Pha (67 years old, Head of Tan Phung 1 village), everything he knows about Vi Rong cape has been passed down orally from previous generations. The legend of this place has become more and more vivid over time, and there are few documents or historical books that fully record it.
Mr. Pha said that the area of Vi Rong Cape used to be wild and mysterious. Surrounded by only trees and sand, it was very difficult to access. Initially, Vi Rong Cape was a large monolithic rock, shaped like fish scales, so people often called it dragon scale rock.
Mr. Pha believes that Vi Rong Cape is most beautiful at sunset. Seen from above, this place looks like a giant dragon stretching out to the ocean.
Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of My Tho Commune, Truong Minh Cuong, said that Vi Rong Cape is becoming more and more known. Images of this place are widely spread on social networking sites, and tourists from all over the world are excited to come here to visit, experience, and satisfy their curiosity about this scenic spot. The lives of people in Tan Phung village have begun to change thanks to tourism.
Ms. Tong Thi Kim Hoang from Long Xuyen city, An Giang province, excitedly said that she and her group of close friends decided to choose Vi Rong cape as the "destination" in their journey across the Central region. "This was the right choice. Vi Rong cape is beautiful, with a wild and mysterious appearance. I feel the coolness and freshness of the natural scenery," Ms. Hoang shared.

“I was quite surprised when I saw Vi Rong Cape. Indeed, it was very different from what I had imagined. The scenery was poetic and romantic with clear blue sea, fine yellow sand, and long rows of rocks… Everything blended together, making me think I was lost in “paradise,” said Le Tri Dat from Ba Ria-Vung Tau province.
The Vi Rong Cape area offers visitors different experiences according to the seasons of the year. Not only in Spring and Summer, but also in Winter when the sea is rough and the waves are high, this place is still an ideal place not to be missed for those who love surfing, especially foreign visitors.
“There are many international visitors. There are times when groups of 8-10 people come. They stay at my house for a whole week to surf. I am very happy because in addition to having an additional source of income, I also have the opportunity to make friends half a world away,” said a resident of Tan Phung village.
