Located in a strategic position in the key economic triangle of Hanoi, Hai Phong, Quang Ninh, Long Hung commune identifies the three pillars, including: Modern industry, traditional craft villages and high-tech agriculture as the strategic direction and motto of action in the new journey.
Established on the basis of the arrangement of the communes: Tan Le, Tien Duc, Thai Hung, Lien Hiep and Hung Nhan town, Long Hung commune quickly promoted the advantages of large land fund, large population, and synchronous traffic infrastructure system, laying the foundation for Long Hung to become an attractive destination for domestic and foreign investors. The most prominent is Hung Nhan industrial cluster (CCN), the "heart" of local industrial development. With a planning area of nearly 45 hectares, divided into 3 investment phases, as of July 2025, the CCN has signed a memorandum of understanding with 6 secondary investors with a registered land lease area of 22.65 hectares, with a total registered capital of 141.5 million USD. It is expected that when the CCN is filled, it will attract 10 enterprises, creating stable jobs for about 5,000 workers.
At Quang Lan General Trading and Service Company Limited, the working atmosphere is bustling and busy. This is one of the enterprises that has just invested in Hung Nhan Industrial Park with a total area of 40,000m2 to produce interior decorative paint. Mr. Nguyen Thanh Thao, Director of the Company said: We chose Hung Nhan Industrial Park not only because of its convenient location but also because the local government always accompanies and supports businesses from legal procedures to preferential policies. This is truly an ideal investment environment.
In Long Hung, Hoi village mat weaving is growing stronger and stronger, affirming its position in the market and making an important contribution to the local economy. Currently, the whole commune has 29 households with 90 mat weaving machines, attracting 420 workers; 8 nylon mat weaving facilities with 310 machines, creating jobs for more than 1,000 workers inside and outside the commune. Total income from mat weaving is estimated at 500 billion VND/year, average income is 72 - 96 million VND/person/year. Leading in developing and enhancing the brand of craft village products is the mat making workshop of Mr. Nguyen Van Son's family, Hai Trieu Xuan village. With a workshop area of 5,000m2 , 90 weaving machines create jobs for 200 local workers. Every day, Mr. Son's workshop sells 5,000 mats, with annual revenue reaching nearly 80 billion VND.
Along with that, Long Hung is aiming to develop high-tech agriculture to become a new pillar in the sustainable economic development strategy of the commune. Not only changing the crop structure, the locality also encourages people to boldly invest and apply modern science and technology in production, bringing high economic efficiency in the direction of "clean agriculture, smart farmers".
The model of growing baby pumpkins and cantaloupes in a greenhouse of Mr. Giang Le Quan, Viet Thang village is an example. With an area of nearly 2.8 hectares, Mr. Quan has invested in a synchronous closed greenhouse system, automatic drip irrigation, and temperature monitoring using sensor technology. Thanks to good control of growing conditions, each year he harvests over 6 tons of cantaloupes and 2 tons of baby pumpkins, with uniform fruit quality, beautiful appearance, and good consumption in supermarkets and markets in the province. Compared to traditional rice or vegetable cultivation, the model of growing baby pumpkins and cantaloupes in a greenhouse, although the initial investment cost is high, the economic efficiency is many times higher.
In the commune, there are currently hundreds of large and small enterprises and production establishments operating in many fields such as: Supporting industry, mechanics, construction materials production, agricultural processing, traditional craft villages, trade, services... actively contributing to the socio-economic development and creating jobs for thousands of local workers. Mr. Pham Thanh Tam, Chairman of the Commune People's Committee said: We always believe that the development of enterprises is the driving force for social development. Therefore, the local government is committed to accompanying and creating the most favorable conditions for enterprises, from administrative procedures, providing premises to connecting infrastructure and human resources. In addition, we are also actively completing technical infrastructure in the planning areas for small-scale industry and new commercial and service areas, and at the same time building concentrated commodity production areas, applying scientific and technological advances to improve production efficiency.
