Border guards' spring gift giving program warms the hearts of villagers in 2023.

Attending the conference were Colonel Pham Dinh Trieu - Political Commissar of the Provincial Border Guard; leaders of the Command, Commanders of departments, offices, 15 border posts, and the Mobile Training Battalion.

In the first 6 months of 2023, the Provincial Party Committee and Border Guard Command proactively advised and proposed the Border Guard Command, Military Region 7 Command, the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee to lead and direct units to synchronously implement border protection measures, closely coordinate with patrol forces, control and protect the border, border gates, trails, and openings, proactively grasp, assess, and accurately forecast the situation, promptly advise and propose effective handling of incidents, ensure foreign relations, effectively combat and prevent all types of crimes, especially illegal entry and exit and smuggling, maintain territorial sovereignty , border security and order, and prevent and control the Covid-19 pandemic.

Organized 1,442 unilateral patrols/8,220 officers and soldiers participating; 1,379 ambushes/8,549 officers and soldiers; 2,028 mobile controls/9,126 people. Organized 3-explosion checks for new soldiers to ensure absolute safety for people and weapons and equipment.

Coordinated with the Provincial Police to discover 2 cases, arrest 9 subjects, successfully fought Project 0622D to destroy a drug trafficking and transportation ring from Cambodia to Vietnam, seized 5kg of crystal meth; 50 heroin bars; 1 gun; 6 bullets, discovered 21 cases, arrested 6 subjects smuggling and commercial fraud in the border area, seized 315.5kg of firecrackers, 13,390 packs of foreign cigarettes, 3,000kg of sugar, 2 horses, 1 car, 1 motorbike. Discovered 44 cases, arrested 83 subjects illegally entering and exiting the country and related to entry and exit.

Presented 100 gifts to policy families worth 46 million VND; 40 scholarships to poor students who have overcome difficulties worth 48 million VND; presented 28 gifts worth 34 million VND and visited 2 heroic Vietnamese mothers. The unit used the production increase fund to support 2.6 tons of rice and 39 million VND to implement the program "Spring on the border, warm the hearts of the villagers".

Coordinated with local Party committees, authorities, and benefactors to present 5 "Warm Houses", "Warm Homes for Border Soldiers", and "Comrades' Houses" worth more than 400 million VND; coordinated with local Party committees and authorities to organize Border Guard foreign exchange and present 12 gifts to Cambodian people worth 6 million VND; coordinated with the Provincial Medical College to organize medical examinations, treatment, and free medicine distribution for people in difficult circumstances worth 10 million VND...

Colonel Le Van Vy - Commander of the Provincial Border Guard praised the results achieved by the grassroots units in the first 6 months of the year, and at the same time requested the units to perform well a number of key tasks such as: Strictly maintaining combat readiness; strengthening patrols, strictly controlling borders, border gates, trails, and openings; proactively detecting, preventing, arresting, and strictly handling violations according to legal regulations; proactively grasping early and remotely all developments of the situation; promptly advising and effectively handling situations, avoiding being passive and surprised.

Closely coordinate with forces to maintain proper implementation of agreements, treaties, and protocols on border demarcation and marker planting associated with the tasks of preventing and combating the Covid-19 pandemic and illegal entry and exit; firmly protect territorial sovereignty and national border security.

Continue to synchronously implement Party and political tasks in the last 6 months of the year. Strengthen political and ideological education, internal management, discipline and law enforcement, and ensure safety; coordinate to promote propaganda on the media about the border and activities of the Border Guard.

Proactively develop plans and strategies to effectively combat all types of crimes; strengthen relations, coordinate patrols, and exchange information with Cambodian border guards in the fight against all types of crimes, border management, and Covid-19 prevention and control; improve the quality of training and coaching, tighten discipline, and minimize violations of discipline and traffic safety.

On the same afternoon, Colonel Pham Dinh Trieu - Political Commissar of the Provincial Border Guard chaired a conference to review Party work and political work in the first 6 months of 2023 and disseminate and implement the Resolution on leadership of border work in the last 6 months of 2023.
