On the morning of May 27, at the training conference on inspection and examination of the 2025 high school graduation exam, Professor Huynh Van Chuong, Director of the Department of Quality Management, Ministry of Education and Training, said that the 2025 high school graduation exam will be printed on A3 size instead of A4 like every year to facilitate printing and reduce the risk of missing pages.

Accordingly, in previous years, high school graduation exams were printed on A4 size, so each exam usually had 4 to 5 pages, causing many difficulties in printing and the risk of missing pages. Therefore, converting the exam to A3 size will make printing easier, minimizing risks due to the reduction in the number of pages.

If in 2024, for multiple-choice exams, each test bag had to contain 24 test codes printed on 4-5 A4 sheets, this year, the number of test papers printed will be based on the number of candidates in each exam room.

For example, if a room has 10 candidates taking the Physics exam, only test codes 01 to 10 will be printed, and can be printed on one A3 sheet (printed on both sides). For the component subjects in the combined exam, instead of being present 10 minutes before the exam time as before, candidates taking only the second subject will have to be present from the beginning of the exam and wait in the waiting room before being allowed into the exam room.

In addition, candidates taking the 2006 GeneralEducation Program who only take the second subject in the optional/combined test must be present 10 minutes before the exam time; candidates taking the 2018 General Education Program must be present from the beginning of the exam and wait in the waiting room.

Time between 2 subjects in the optional/combined exam: For candidates taking the exam according to the 2006 Program is 10 minutes; for candidates taking the exam according to the 2018 General Education Program is 15 minutes.

The Ministry of Education and Training also notes the following regarding exam supervision:

Regarding the handling of excess exam papers, in the examination room for candidates taking the exam according to the 2006 General Education Program, the secretary collects and stores them in the Council room; in the examination room for candidates taking the exam according to the 2018 General Education Program, the invigilator is responsible for keeping them in the examination room.

Regarding the collection of elective exams/combined exams of natural sciences /social sciences: In the examination room for candidates taking the exam according to the 2006 General Education Program, there is 1 bag of exam papers for each subject. In the examination room for candidates taking the exam according to the 2018 General Education Program, there is 1 bag of exam papers for each exam session. There are 2 bags of exam papers for elective exams.

For Geography: Candidates taking the 2006 General Education Program are allowed to bring Atlases into the exam room. Candidates taking the 2018 General Education Program are not allowed to bring Atlases into the exam room.

The 2025 high school graduation exam will take place on June 26 and 27. This is the first year of graduation exams under the new 2018 general education program. Therefore, in order to ensure fairness for candidates studying under the 2006 program for graduation or university admission, the Ministry of Education and Training will organize two separate exams according to two programs for two groups of candidates. Candidates taking the 2006 program will take the exam at separate testing locations.

According to statistics from the Ministry of Education and Training, in 2025, the exam will have more than 1.16 million candidates registered to take the exam, an increase of about 100,000 students compared to 2024, of which about 25,000 students will take the exam according to the 2006 program.
