The Ministry of Transport has recently issued a document responding to a petition from voters in Quang Nam province regarding the upgrading and expansion of several national highways passing through the area.

According to voters in Quang Nam, national highways 14B (through Nam Giang and Dai Loc districts), 14D (through Nam Giang district), and 14H (the section from Nong Son bridge, Que Trung commune to Truong Son Dong road, Nong Son district, Quang Nam province) have very high traffic volumes while the road surface is narrow, congested, and in poor condition.

Therefore, voters have petitioned the Ministry of Transport to promptly develop a plan to invest in expanding and upgrading these national highways.

National Highway 14D, according to the plan, is 75km long, with a scale of level III - IV, 2 - 4 lanes; currently it is level V, 2 lanes;

National Highway 14H, according to the plan, is 76km long, with a scale of level IV and 2 lanes; currently, it basically meets level III-IV standards with 2 lanes, except for the section from Km60 to Km76 which is classified as a rural road of type A.

"Currently, due to resource constraints, the Ministry of Transport has not been able to allocate funds to invest in national highways 14B, 14D, and 14H during the 2021-2025 period. The Ministry of Transport acknowledges the voters' recommendations and will coordinate with the Quang Nam Provincial People's Committee to report to the competent authorities for consideration and investment in the renovation and upgrading of these sections during the 2026-2030 period," the Ministry of Transport stated.

According to the Ministry of Transport, to ensure traffic safety on the route, the Ministry of Transport has assigned the Vietnam Road Administration to implement regular maintenance and periodic repairs from 2022 to 2024 with a budget of approximately 249.6 billion VND.

It is projected that in 2025, approximately 10.2 billion VND will be allocated to continue maintenance and repair, ensuring safe operation and facilitating travel for the public.
