The Ministry of Health warns against using Baby Shark and Medi Kid Calcium K2 products suspected of being counterfeit.

NDO - The Department of Food Safety, Ministry of Health has just issued a warning to people not to use two delicious food products Baby Shark and Medi Kid Calcium K2 produced by Herbitech Technology Company Limited because they are suspected to be counterfeit.

According to the Food Safety Department, the April 24 evening news program of Vietnam Television (VTV) posted information that the police investigation agency, Ministry of Public Security is currently investigating and discovering a number of fake and unsafe food products, including 2 health protection food products suspected to be fake produced by Herbitech Technology Company Limited (address: Block 8, Phu Lo Commune, Soc Son District, Hanoi City).

Specifically, the two health products suspected to be fake include: Baby Shark delicious food product and Medi Kid Calcium K2 product.

While the authorities are verifying and handling the matter, the Food Safety Department recommends that people should not use the above two products until the final conclusion of the police agency is available.

The Food Safety Department will continue to closely coordinate with the police to promptly inform the people.

According to information from VTV, Baby Shark - one of the health protection food products produced by Herbitech Technology Company Limited, with the announced use of supplementing micronutrients for newborns who are weak, have low resistance, and have poor appetite. However, the investigation results show that the appraisal agency has determined that this product is counterfeit.

On many products of Herbitech Company, the raw materials are announced to be imported from the US, France, and Germany, but when information about the cost to produce these products is made public, many consumers are confused.

Also in VTV's program, Major Nguyen Van Thanh, Office of the Investigation Police Agency, Ministry of Public Security said that counterfeiters will mass-produce products according to customer criteria. Accordingly, in order for counterfeit products to be circulated on the market, the subjects will send samples for consultation so that competent companies can test and re-test whether the ingredients and quantities are correct as announced or not.

When testing, if the test samples do not meet the declared product standards, the subjects will connect, discuss and agree with testing companies to edit the results, or even falsify the test results.

The number of customers that this company processes and manufactures products is up to about 200 products.

Test results are one of the important bases showing the quality of product indicators, however, the police agency determined that many test reports of Herbitech Company had their indicator information edited.

Previously, also in April, the Ministry of Public Security had just dismantled a ring producing, trading, and consuming fake milk powder in extremely large quantities in Hanoi and neighboring provinces.

At the same time, the Ministry of Public Security's Investigation Police Agency prosecuted and temporarily detained eight subjects for producing and trading in counterfeit food products and violating accounting regulations causing serious consequences.
