On the morning of May 6, the Vietnam Volleyball Federation (VFV) announced that the main sponsor for the Vietnamese women's volleyball team is the PetroVietnam Fertilizer and Chemicals Corporation (Phu My Fertilizer).
In the 2022 - 2024 period, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team has made a remarkable journey of achievements in regional, continental and world tournaments.
In the last three SEA Games, coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet and his team have maintained their position with a silver medal, second only to Thailand. In the Asian arena, the team has achieved the following achievements: champion of AVC Challenger 2023; fourth place in the 2023 Asian Women's Championship; top 4 in Asiad 19; champion of AVC Challenger 2024.
On the world stage, Tran Thi Thanh Thuy and her teammates won third place in the FIVB Challenger, and for the first time qualified for the World Championship taking place in Phuket, Thailand in August 2025.
After the great achievements, the Vietnamese volleyball girls have received timely attention and encouragement with the first official sponsorship contract to continue towards new milestones at international tournaments in 2025, especially the goal of winning the gold medal at the 33rd SEA Games.
VFV General Secretary Le Tri Truong shared: "Having a sponsor will help the Vietnamese women's volleyball team have more resources to develop from facilities to international training and competition trips. We are committed to using these resources transparently, with the goal of helping the team have the best preparation for tournaments."
The goal of winning the gold medal at the 33rd SEA Games is predicted to be very difficult to achieve, because the Thai women's volleyball team is superior in class (having won the gold medal since 1995) and also has the home field advantage. The VFV general secretary said: "High-performance sports always need to overcome pressure. We and the coaching staff have discussed to determine what needs to be done to motivate the athletes. Based on their strength and analysis of the opponents, the whole team strives to achieve the goal of winning the gold medal at the 33rd SEA Games."
Expected schedule of activities and competitions of the Vietnam women's volleyball team in 2025:
• April - September: Phase I training in Quang Ninh .
