In the group stage of the AVC Challenge Cup 2024, coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet's students took 4 sets to defeat Kazakhstan with the scores of 25 - 14, 25 - 19, 14 - 25 and 25 - 23 respectively. However, in the final match, Bich Tuyen and her teammates only needed 3 sets to defeat the team that is 7 places higher than Vietnam in the world rankings (31 compared to 38 of Vietnam).
In the rematch with the Kazakhstan women's volleyball team in the final, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team still lacked its biggest star, Tran Thi Thanh Thuy, due to health problems, but with the remaining stars such as Nguyen Thi Bich Tuyen, Le Thanh Thuy, and Kieu Trinh, the attacking power of the Vietnamese women's volleyball team did not decrease.

The first set witnessed the excellent defense of coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet and his team against the tall hitters of Kazakhstan. Up front, Tu Linh, Kieu Trinh and Bich Tuyen continuously scored points to help the Vietnamese girls start the final match smoothly with a 25-20 victory.
Entering set 2, the Kazakhstan women's volleyball team started better, leading 15-12 at one point. However, after a time-out, the reigning AVC Challenge Cup champions had a series of points to take the lead back to 19-16. Although the two teams tied at 22-22, Bich Tuyen's two consecutive blocks and a strong smash to the left corner of the court sealed the victory at 25-22.
Similarly, in set 3, the consultation situation brought a big turning point. At the moment when the Vietnamese women's team was behind 16-20, coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet decided to have a technical consultation. After returning, the blocking situations of Le Thanh Thuy and Kieu Trinh along with the powerful shots of Bich Tuyen brought Vietnam back to the lead 22-20 before ending set 3 with a score of 25-22.
Winning 3-0 overall, coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet and his team successfully defended the AVC Challenge Cup championship. This is the first international title for Vietnamese women's volleyball in 2024. The Vietnamese girls also reaped many individual titles: opposite Bich Tuyen won the title of "Best Athlete", Le Thanh Thuy was voted "Best Middle Blocker" while Nguyen Khanh Dang won the award for "Best Libero".
This victory not only helped coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet and his students rise to 36th place in the world but also brought home a ticket to attend the FIVB Challenger Cup taking place in July in the Philippines./.
