At the 32nd SEA Games in Cambodia, the Vietnamese women's team is in Group A, facing 3 teams: Philippines, Myanmar and Malaysia (Indonesia withdrew right after the draw). In this group, the Philippines and Vietnam have entered the second qualifying round of the 2024 Olympics, and are the 2 representatives of Southeast Asia participating in the 2023 World Cup.

It can be said that the opponents of the Vietnamese women's team in Group A are very tough. The Philippines and Myanmar are both capable of competing for medals and finished 3rd and 4th respectively at the previous SEA Games. In addition, Myanmar is the team that surpassed Vietnam to win 3rd place in the AFF Cup and the Philippines won the championship when defeating Thailand in mid-2022.
