While exercising, Truc Nhu accidentally saw members of a stunt club practicing and was fascinated. At first, she just wanted to learn and considered this a sport to improve her health. After three months of working together, Truc Nhu was entrusted to perform the first scene... falling from a high floor to the ground. Over time, she often took on dangerous scenes such as flying cars, jumping from buildings, explosions, and dangerous action scenes. All the skills she possesses come from constant training, passion and perseverance.
"Bloodshed to make money" profession
At first, Truc Nhu hid her decision to become a stuntwoman from her family. Only when she felt she could pursue the career did Truc Nhu confess to her mother. At first, her mother was worried and advised against it because she thought this was too dangerous a job. Truc Nhu herself sometimes wavered because she thought "this body was given to me by my parents, it did not come naturally, I have to love it and not "abuse it" like that". However, she said that her passion was in her blood, so she was determined to follow it, just trying to keep her body as healthy as possible to reassure her parents.

With her petite figure and martial arts skills, Truc Nhu is in demand as a "double" actress for many female leads in film and television projects, music videos, advertisements... From 2010 to now, she is estimated to have participated in nearly 100 projects, including notable international collaboration opportunities such as the film Da 5 Bloods (5 comrades) by director Spike Lee or working with the Bollywood crew.
Talking about the dangers of the stunt profession, Truc Nhu shared that people in the profession often joke with each other that "you have to bleed to get money". As a stuntwoman, injuries and scratches are almost unavoidable. She once suffered from a herniated disc, had to rest for 10 months and undergo physical therapy before she could return to the set. The doctor warned that if it relapsed, she might need surgery. However, Truc Nhu did not allow herself to stop for too long.
"No one sells insurance to stuntmen because this profession is too dangerous. So, you have to try to keep yourself as safe as possible. Stuntmen have to practice regularly, wear protective gear, and learn from dangerous stunts to avoid getting injured and continue working. You work in this profession, you have a passion for it, but don't be reckless or reckless. Because when you get seriously injured, it not only affects you but also the entire film crew," the female stuntman shared.
For those who intend to pursue a career as a stuntman, Truc Nhu sincerely advises: "Always put your health and safety first. Just one minute of negligence can have serious consequences. This profession is not easy to follow, it requires true passion, patience and constant learning and self-improvement. But if you are passionate and persistent enough, the profession will not let you down."
From stuntman to female action director
Truc Nhu admitted that she thought many times that she would not be able to stick with the profession, but in the end she realized that no job made her as happy and passionate as being a stuntman. However, since 2018, when she felt that her health no longer allowed her to continue performing dangerous stunts like before, the girl born in 1991 began to switch to the role of action director.

"From curiosity, I became a stuntman and then became passionate, I guess the profession chose me. Every time I performed a difficult move, I was so happy that I couldn't sleep. But over time, I realized that my health was starting to decline, and I didn't dare to do dangerous action scenes that could touch old wounds. So I decided to study action directing to continue my career. Instead of dedicating myself to dangerous stunts, I will train the next generation of stuntmen, find angles to film action scenes that are safest for stunt actors. When accepting a project, sometimes I will still participate in stunts when there are not enough actors," she said.
Up to now, Truc Nhu has had the opportunity to participate in many films as an action director such as Bloody Happiness, Once Upon a Time There Was a Love Story, The Forest of the Dead, Cam, The Bride of the Rich, The Soul Eater, Rain on the Butterfly Wings, 7 Years of Not Getting Married Will Break Up, Tet in the Hell Village, The Challenge show...
Not only stopping at personal development, Truc Nhu also strives to build a more professional stunt community. She wants to create an environment for exchange and learning among colleagues, where stuntmen can share experiences, develop together and, more importantly, have fair rights. "The most difficult thing is to balance the requirements of the producer and the rights of the stuntmen. There are films with low budgets, I have to calculate so that there are still complete scenes while the crew still receives reasonable treatment. That is what always worries me," she added.
