The famous tuning company Brabus has just officially introduced the Brabus 1000, a high-performance version based on the Mercedes-AMG GT63S E Performance model. Although the name is not too fancy, the performance figures that this hybrid coupe brings are completely worthy of expectations. The original 4.0L twin-turbo V8 engine has been comprehensively upgraded by Brabus. The cylinder capacity has been increased to more than 4.4L (4,407 cc) thanks to the enlarged cylinder bore and the installation of new forged pistons, combined with a one-piece aluminum crankshaft that increases the stroke by 100 mm.
In addition, Brabus also equipped new turbochargers and a high- performance stainless steel exhaust system with integrated sound control valves. The engine management system was recalibrated, allowing the internal combustion engine to produce 785 horsepower at 5,900 rpm and a maximum torque of 1,250 Nm at 2,900 rpm. However, to protect the transmission components, torque is electronically limited to 1,050 Nm. The car still uses the 9-speed AMG Speedshift MCT 9G automatic transmission and the AMG Performance 4Matic+ all-wheel drive system. Combined with the stock electric motor (201 hp, 320 Nm), the total system output is exactly 1,000 PS (986 hp) and 1,820 Nm of torque. However, the transmission protection limit is still activated, bringing the actual usable torque figure to 1,620 Nm.
Notably, this hybrid powertrain still meets Euro 6D ISC-FCM emission standards as prescribed in Germany. Compared to the already powerful standard version with 816 horsepower and 1,420 Nm, the Brabus 1000 is a significant step forward. The car can accelerate from 0–100 km/h in just 2.6 seconds (0.2 seconds faster than the original), before reaching a maximum speed of 320 km/h, equivalent to the standard version. In addition, it only takes 9.5 seconds to reach 200 km/h and 23.6 seconds to reach 300 km/h from a standstill. To ensure stability at high speeds, Brabus fine-tuned the aerodynamics in the wind tunnel, creating a series of carbon fiber body parts such as the front spoiler with extended fins, the small side splitters, the radiator grille inserts, the rear diffuser with four 76 mm diameter exhaust pipes and the large rear spoiler. All can be finished in an exposed or optional painted finish. The Brabus 1000 is equipped with 10-spoke Monoblock Z rims, measuring 21 inches at the front (305/30 tires) and 22 inches at the rear (335/25 tires). The sports suspension system developed by Brabus in cooperation with KW is height-adjustable, allowing the chassis to be lowered by up to 20 mm.
The interior is finished in premium black leather with a diamond pattern, which extends to the floor mats and luggage compartment. The headliner is covered in Dinamica material. Carbon details appear widely along with a series of embossed "77" logos - a reminder of the year the Brabus brand was founded (1977). Of course, customers will also have many different interior and exterior personalization options.
