HP came in second with 20.7% market share, or 14.1 million units shipped. Dell came in third with 14.3% market share, down 3% from its shipments in the same period in 2024.

Apple was the fastest growing manufacturer, growing 21.4% year-over-year in 2024. The company shipped 6.2 million devices, or 9.1% of the world's PC market share.

Fifth place belongs to the Asus brand with 7.2% market share globally, corresponding to 4.9 million devices shipped. This manufacturer recorded a growth of 16.7% compared to the same period in Q2/2024.

IDC experts said the computer industry grew in most regions. However, the US market has begun to feel the impact of import tariffs.

"We expect the US market to cool down this quarter due to high inventories at the beginning of the year. However, the rest of the world will still maintain good growth as demand for upgrading to new computers increases," said Jean Philippe Bouchard, senior vice president at IDC.

According to experts, the global computer market is likely to continue to grow in the upcoming third quarter.

"Prices may increase in the latter part of the year due to the impact of tariff policies. However, market demand will be the deciding factor. In the first half of the year, computer sales grew very steadily. Therefore, no one wants to miss this opportunity," said Ryan Reith, vice president at IDC.
