At 4pm on April 3rd at the South Saigon International General Hospital, the surgery of striker Bui Vi Hao was successfully performed. At the moment, he is resting in the recovery room and is expected to return to his room at 10pm.

As the person who directly performed the surgery with Dr. Nguyen Thuy Song Ha, Dr. Truong Cong Dung said: "Bui Vi Hao's surgery was a great success. The wound was as serious as the initial assessment, but it was completely treated.

In 3 hours, we combined the fibula, realigned the tibial and fibular ligaments, and sutured the medial collateral ligaments... for Bui Vi Hao. The possibility of the bone healing is very high, while if the ligaments recover well, he will be able to return to normal competition."

According to former Vietnam national team doctor Truong Cong Dung, Bui Vi Hao's ankle is expected to be protected with a very strict brace for 2 months while he moves around on crutches.

According to Mr. Dung, the wound will need careful re-examination to prevent swelling. At the same time, Vietnam's best young player will be given additional training to regain balance, combine upper body training and regain physical strength...

Mr. Dung added: "Bui Vi Hao's bones have been splinted very firmly. The ligaments will need physical therapy and therapies such as platelet plasma injections to speed up the recovery process.

Within 10 days after the surgery, Vi Hao should go home to receive the best care and nutrition, before re-examining and starting rehabilitation. He can return to the field in 6 months. If he strictly follows the instructions and recovers well, Hao has hope of joining the U.22 Vietnam team to participate in the upcoming 33rd SEA Games."
