On August 6, the leader of the Department of Education and Training of Ca Mau province said that the work of distributing textbooks for the new school year in the province basically ensures timely delivery to schools, preventing book fever and shortage.
According to Ca Mau Book and Equipment Joint Stock Company, this year the book distribution is slower than the same period last year. Up to this point, the company has distributed about 70% of the books received from the Publishing House to schools and agents in the province.
The company has also opened two more stores to serve the new school year in An Xuyen Ward and Bac Lieu Ward, to provide books and teaching and learning equipment early and fully, ensuring the local book market has a rich source of goods and stable prices.
“Previously, schools registered to buy books through the Department of Education and Training, but this year the Department of Education and Training no longer has them, so we have to contact the schools directly to supply books.
This year’s book market has many distributors, stable prices, and limited counterfeit and pirated books. Textbook prices have decreased by 10-15% compared to the previous school year,” said Ms. Nguyen Hong Gam, Deputy Director of Ca Mau Book and Equipment Joint Stock Company.

At Thoi Binh B Town Primary School (Thoi Binh, Ca Mau), Mr. Nguyen Kim Chung, the school's principal, said: The school has compiled the books from the previous school year and the old books of upperclassmen to support lowerclassmen, and at the same time mobilized more from organizations and benefactors for textbooks and school supplies to support students in difficult circumstances, ensuring that all students of the school have enough books, notebooks, and school supplies to enter the new school year.
As for textbooks for teaching, if there is a shortage, the school will use the unit's operating budget to purchase them.

Mr. Ta Thanh Vu, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training of Ca Mau, said that up to this point, the Ca Mau region has distributed 1,839,900 copies of books to agents, primary, secondary and high schools; the Bac Lieu region has distributed 292,771 copies of books to agents and primary, secondary and high schools.
“Implementing the direction of the Ministry of Education and Training , the Department continues to issue documents directing units and educational institutions to strengthen the management of the organization of selection and guidance on the use of textbooks in general education institutions in the 2025-2026 school year.
In particular, educational institutions must have plans to support textbooks for poor and near-poor students, policy beneficiaries, students in difficult and disadvantaged circumstances, remote areas, ethnic minorities, ensuring that 100% of students have enough textbooks for their studies," Mr. Vu emphasized.
