In the trend of increasingly deep international integration, foreign language proficiency becomes a "passport" that opens up opportunities for study, work and global cultural exchange.

In line with the spirit of Resolution No. 71-NQ/TW of the Politburo on breakthroughs in education and training development, Hanoi Education Investment and Development Joint Stock Company (HEID) - a member unit of Vietnam Education Publishing House has built a learning materials ecosystem to support teaching the Global Success book series.

Notably, the GlobalSpeak application is highly appreciated by many teachers thanks to its compatibility with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages ​​(CEFR) and its suitability with the 2018 General Education Program.

International standard book series, close to Vietnamese students

Since being approved by the Ministry of Education and Training and officially put into teaching, the Global Success textbook series has been quickly and widely deployed in provinces and cities across the country.

This is a book series compiled by Vietnam Education Publishing House in collaboration with two globally renowned publishers, Macmillan Education (primary school) and Pearson Education (middle school and high school).

The highlight of Global Success is that it is designed according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages ​​(CEFR) - an international standard in assessing foreign language proficiency.

The lesson structure is built according to the competency development process: Recognition - practice - creative application, helping students synchronously develop four skills of listening - speaking - reading - writing along with the 4Cs competencies (Critical thinking - Creativity - Communication - Collaboration).

According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Nhung, an English teacher at a secondary school in Hanoi, what she appreciates about Global Success is the clear lesson structure, with specific goals for each skill. Students not only learn English, but also practice critical thinking, collaboration and problem-solving skills – skills that are essential for 21st-century citizens.

Another advantage of the book series is the ability to connect language with life skills and digital citizenship. The topics are integrated closely and are current, helping students learn English through real-life situations, thereby turning foreign languages ​​into a tool for communication and integration, not just a subject for exams.

"In addition, the assessment system for progress is integrated throughout each lesson unit, helping teachers observe the learning process, detect strengths and areas that need to be nurtured of each student. Thanks to that, teaching becomes more personalized and humane, arousing internal motivation, helping each student maximize their potential," Ms. Nhung affirmed.

Developing language reflex thinking through digital technology

In the ecosystem of learning materials that comes with the book series, GlobalSpeak is considered a "digital assistant" for teachers and students. The application is designed by HEID to closely follow the content of Global Success, ensuring compatibility with the CEFR Competency Framework and being adjusted to suit the 2018 General Education Program, helping Vietnamese learners approach the international English learning model in a close and effective way.

With GlobalSpeak, every classroom lesson is extended into an interactive learning experience. Students can practice native pronunciation through Speech Recognition technology, practice real-life simulated conversations, complete online exercises, and receive instant feedback.

From his perspective, Mr. Pham Van Son, an English teacher at a secondary school in Da Nang, said: “GlobalSpeak helps students practice more natural language reflexes. They can listen, speak, read, and write on a digital platform, have their pronunciation corrected, and be graded directly. It is an active way of learning that brings real excitement."

The application provides a rich library of learning materials including videos, images, tests, flashcards, language games... helping teachers easily customize teaching activities to suit each level group.

The special feature of GlobalSpeak is the ability to develop language reflex thinking through technology. The application is designed in the direction of learning by doing to help students form the habit of using English in real communication contexts.

Each exercise in GlobalSpeak is built on a progressive level from A1 to B2, corresponding to the levels in the CEFR framework. This allows learners to progress systematically, from familiarity with basic vocabulary and structures to the ability to express, debate and create language.

In particular, the application also integrates the situational learning feature, in which students are placed in real-life contexts such as job interviews, traveling, shopping or participating in community activities. Thanks to that, language skills are linked to cultural - communication - integration skills, in the spirit of "learning to do - learning to live together - learning to assert yourself".

According to Ms. Tran Minh Ha, an English teacher in Bac Ninh, “Students really like the interactive dialogue in GlobalSpeak. When practicing, they feel like they are talking to a real person. I have seen students’ confidence and language reflexes increase significantly after just a few weeks.”
