Thai Binh currently has over 190,000 Buddhist followers, more than 600 monks and nuns, and more than 890 pagodas; many of which have been recognized as historical and cultural relics, "Model Pagodas of Four Landscapes". In recent years, Party committees at all levels, the government, the Fatherland Front, and socio- political organizations have always paid attention to and created favorable conditions for the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha of the province, districts, and cities to organize religious activities in compliance with the charter of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha and in accordance with the provisions of the law on religion. Charity work, Dharma propagation, guiding Buddhists to participate in government building, and patriotic emulation movements, "Building Model Pagodas of Four Landscapes" have all been carried out with interest by Buddhist ecclesiastical organizations and monks and nuns. In particular, Buddhist monks, nuns and followers actively participate in socio-economic development, ensuring political security, social order and safety, promoting the tradition of solidarity and harmony of Vietnamese Buddhism in the direction of "Dharma - Nation - Socialism", building the great national unity bloc.
At the places visited, the provincial leaders and the local sectors sent their congratulations to the dignitaries, officials, monks, nuns, followers and Buddhists for a happy and prosperous Buddha's birthday and for achievements in all aspects of Buddhist activities. The comrades acknowledged and thanked the positive contributions of the pagodas as well as the dignitaries, officials, monks, nuns, followers and Buddhists in the process of socio -economic development of the province; at the same time, they hoped that the abbots, together with monks, nuns, followers and Buddhists would continue to promote the tradition of protecting the Dharma and pacifying the people, and properly implement the direction of "Dharma - Nation - Socialism", especially in the process of streamlining the apparatus and rearranging administrative units at the provincial and communal levels.
On behalf of the dignitaries, officials, monks, nuns, and Buddhist followers, the abbots expressed their deep gratitude to the provincial leaders for their attention, support, and facilitation of the activities of Buddhist establishments in the past time. Along with that, they affirmed that the entire Sangha, monks, nuns, followers, and Buddhists will continue to promote good traditions, actively participate in patriotic emulation movements, charitable and humanitarian activities, and actively contribute to the socio-economic development of the homeland Thai Binh to develop more and more.
