On the afternoon of February 20, comrades: Ngo Dong Hai, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Nguyen Khac Than, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee inspected the agricultural production situation in two districts: Quynh Phu, Hung Ha. Provincial leaders and delegations inspected and encouraged the land consolidation model in Quynh Trang commune (Quynh Phu). At the field, leaders of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, Quynh Phu district reported on the production situation of the spring crop in 2024.

Accordingly, by February 20, Thai Binh had planted about 67,000 hectares, reaching 90% of the plan. Of which, some districts such as Hung Ha, Dong Hung, Vu Thu basically completed planting, farmers shifted their focus to rice care. In Quynh Phu district, by February 20, the whole district had planted over 9,000 hectares of rice, reaching nearly 90% of the area with the main varieties: BC15, TBR225, Dai Thom 8, Bac Thom No. 7. Localities actively promoted mechanization of the planting stage. The whole province currently has nearly 1,200 transplanters of all kinds to help speed up the planting progress, ensure the season, and strive to finish planting before February 22.

Through inspection and listening to reports from sectors and localities, provincial leaders acknowledged and highly appreciated the direction and management of the agricultural sector, local authorities, and the initiative of people in the 2024 spring crop production, especially the effectiveness of mechanical tray transplanting to free up labor, reduce production costs, and speed up the sowing and planting progress in the best time frame.

Provincial leaders emphasized that promoting the application of mechanization in production is the driving force for farmers to maintain production, not abandon fields, promote the effectiveness of land accumulation, form large-scale production areas, and increase production efficiency. At the same time, it is noted that the agricultural sector and localities need to create favorable conditions for farmers to accumulate and concentrate land, form large-scale commodity production areas; review and advise the province on support mechanisms and policies to accelerate the application of mechanization in rice production stages. For the 2024 spring crop production, localities will take advantage of favorable weather to sow and plant rice to ensure completion of the plan within the best time frame; direct and guide farmers to take care of newly planted rice areas so that rice plants grow and develop well; closely monitor weather developments and pests and diseases on crops to prevent and control them effectively, avoiding widespread outbreaks.

Provincial leaders visited the model of growing Achyranthes bidentata in Thong Nhat commune (Hung Ha).

Visiting the medicinal plant growing area in Thong Nhat commune (Hung Ha), the provincial leaders highly appreciated this model, especially the Achyranthes bidentata plant with a short growing time and economic efficiency 3-4 times higher than rice cultivation. The provincial leaders requested the agricultural sector and Hung Ha district to pay attention to developing the Achyranthes bidentata plant growing area in particular and the medicinal plant growing area in general in a safe direction, applying drying technology, preserving products and doing a good job of promoting and finding outlets for products for sustainable development, increasing people's income.
