Bang La residential area (Tra Leng, Nam Tra My) built on a 6-hectare land plot along the Leng River has been "embraced" between the embankment sections. More than 40 Bh'noong households who escaped the terrible landslide at the end of October 2020 can now settle down in the new land (not to mention the land fund is enough to receive 40 more households for resettlement).

Mr. Tran Van Man - Vice Chairman of Nam Tra My District People's Committee said that up to now, the contractor has completed 100% of the volume according to the initially signed contract, preparing to invite specialized agencies to inspect, accept, and hand over for use. The additional volume for the project has completed the bidding, signed a contract with the winning construction contractor, and proceeded to construct the additional volume. The implementation period is from August 14 to November 12, 2024.

Reservoir projects in the mountain corner are finishing ahead of schedule. In June 2024, the Quang Dam reservoir (Tam Nghia, Nui Thanh) was handed over and put into use.

The two lakes Da Chong (Que Xuan 2) and 3/2 (Duy Son, Duy Xuyen) will be handed over in early September 2024. Nuoc Rin Lake (Tra Giap, Bac Tra My) has basically completed the main items and dredging of the lake bed. The contractor and investor are completing the completion and acceptance test, and will be handed over and put into use this September.

All capital will be disbursed

The Ministry of Planning and Investment requested a report on the implementation of projects under the Socio-Economic Recovery and Development Program; required localities to take full responsibility before the Government and the Prime Minister if they were late or did not disburse all the allocated capital of this program.

Therefore, the Provincial People's Committee has forced investors to disburse all capital plans before December 31, 2024. Mr. Nguyen Quang Thu - Director of the Department of Planning and Investment said that construction units urgently complete the remaining items during the dry season according to the set plan. Prepare documents and procedures for acceptance of completed items to disburse capital plans and finalize completed projects.

With only 5 months left to go, and the rainy and stormy season approaching, investors of irrigation projects under this program have committed to completing them on schedule and disbursing all the allocated capital.

Mr. Vo Van Diem - Director of the Project Management Board for Investment and Construction of Agricultural and Rural Development Works in Quang Nam (investor) said that the Provincial People's Committee has approved the adjustment of the investment project to build the project "Emergency anti-erosion embankment of Cua Dai beach (section from Cam An Ward People's Committee to An Bang area, Hoi An)".

The contractor continues to construct the remaining items.

The underground embankment structure will be compensated for in height by deeply eroded rocks, ensuring safety and stability for the embankment, increasing the coastal slope by 3.25%. The disbursement rate of this project is over 70.7% (148.6/210 billion VND).

As for the reservoir project, the procedures for selecting contractors for the additional items for reservoir 3/2 (Duy Son, Duy Xuyen) are being carried out; construction will begin in early September and the project will be completed and handed over for use before December 31, 2024. The disbursement rate of this project has reached more than 86.5% (nearly 47.6/55 billion VND).

“No difficulties, no problems, hopefully the two projects will reach the finish line, and 100% of the capital will be disbursed before December 31, 2024,” said Mr. Diem.

The embankment protecting Bang La residential area (Tra Leng, Nam Tra My) also did not encounter many difficulties. The notable problem is that the process of selecting a contractor for the construction and installation package of the adjusted and supplemented part requires time to carry out the bidding and bid evaluation work, affecting the process of project implementation.

The implementation of the adjusted and supplemented construction will be in the third quarter of 2024 and the beginning of the fourth quarter of 2024 (the period when thunderstorms and flash floods often occur in this area, which will affect the construction progress). However, according to Mr. Tran Van Man, the project has disbursed 95% of the value of the volume of all consulting packages and the construction and installation package.

The contractor is completing the settlement documents to make payment of 100% of the contract value (after having the acceptance report and performing warranty obligations).

Particularly, the project is implementing the additional construction package, at the end of August 2024, about 2.5 billion VND will be disbursed, by November 2024, when the completed volume is 100% accepted, it is possible to disburse about 6.5 billion VND more. After being approved by the competent authority, 100% of the capital plan will be disbursed.
